Hi, I was just wandering if anyone could help me with the Vauxhall/Opel Corsa Comfort. The reason being, I watched an episode of Fifth Gear the other day, where the showed a performance in Disney Land Paris, using specially built reae wheel drive 130bhp Corsas... ...I just can't get the Corsa to handle neatly, and drive quick (Not too bothered about top end speed, maybe around 100mph).

If anyone could help, could you either post here or PM me.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry if I posted in the wrong place, only just noticed this Sub-Board a few days ago...

anyone can provide a general performance setup for a Corsa (I just wish they'd left a production Astra in, frankly). it also depends on how much cash you have on hand in game.

try playing with the suspension first. suspension twigging is usually the best way of getting the car to handle the way you want. then start attaching power parts. also, the race tyres tend to make the car handle better, but if you don't feel like forking out that much nicker, grab the sports hards.

I have the money cheat, got it with a downloaded 100% game save because I had no time for the endurance races (not even B-Spec).

I have tried the suspension, but it seems to slow down a lot wen accelerating through a corner. I am not very good at adjusting the LSD or gear ratios, so any help you could provide would be helpful... Or if you know of any drift settings, I can work from there - adjusting it so it is not so tail happy.

Thanks for the input though.

it slowing down so much in the corners is probably attributed to the driving aids. turn them off and then adjust the car from there.

Do you want the same 130hp?? Do you want more, less?? Do you want it to be clean or an oversteerer??

I'll have a try at this for you though.

Belisario has it. turn the Anti-skid nannies all the way off. Front Drivers benifit from that. also, drop the Traction Controll to no more than three. hopped-up fwd's tend to lay a lot of rubber when downshifting if they're max tuned.

once Mafia Boy has his posted or PMed, you can give some of this a try

since you have the max cash, max out the car. buy everything at level three with a couple exceptions; put a 2 way limited slip on, and of course, you don't need a carbon driveshaft.

here's what I do with the Suspension on ALL vehicles

spring rates +5 kilos
ride height ~100 mm
bound 10
rebound 5
change the camber to +2 front, -2 rear, and jack the stabilizers up all the way (to 7).

don't be afraid to buy hard tyres, sports or racing (or S3/road tyres)

play with the tranny however you want (my settings depend on the Final drive ratio in a custom tranny, or I set the final to 3.360 with an 11 on the auto settings for the rest of the gears)

note, my method was developed over approximately 10 years of Gran Turismo play (i bought the original game late in 1998), and is for use with a conventional controller. i tried to make all the cars as stable as possible so I could just floor it and blow everybody's doors off :P

Alright, here's a sample. It turned out quite alright considering, ending up in 2nd on Family Cup +10 at Suzuka East Course facing STi's, Evo's & a 300ZX doing the 2 laps in 2 minutes 10seconds. :) It can be made more extreme but it's a nice little hatchback for it's little horsepower figure. :D

Opel Corsa Comfort '01. - 132hp. 0.0km example.

correction on my part.
camber 3/3
toe +2/-2

I went and purchased a corsa comfort last night to see what it would do with a full kit.

YEOWSAH! the corsa came out with a deep throaty ROAR with a race muffler, and that makes it even cooler. never heard a 4 pot sound like a US V8. hope the Vaux version does as cool.

Yeah, the only correction I did myself after the initial setup was to bring the rear toe out to -2. That was it. ;) If you want, jack up the downforce to 30/30 and you'll smash those same cars, I just wanted to give you all a baseline tune to work on from there. :D

Thanks very much for all the help guys, I will try out the setups.

I don't use any aids at all anyway, I use the analogues for throttle control ;)

I really appreciate all the help, I will try to help others out when possible.
