Yea you might need a case to put it all in :P

Don't go for 256, 512mb Ram is becoming the norm nowadays. 👍

i know 512 is better but my plan is buy 256 for the moment and later when i get more money buy another memory of 256 or 512 .

btw how are you ?

are you going to record movies onto your computer from VHS (or betamax :odd: )? if so you need a grapchics card with not only tv-out but also tv-in to capture the movies.

You want to be able to burn DVD's? You won't find that for under $600, even if you build it yourself. You are looking for a multimedia type machine and they are typically $1000+. But you can easily get a good box for $500.

Bottom line: building your own computer is not cheaper than buying one, unless you build some obsolete piece of crap, which it sounds like you aren't interested in.

Actually, if you shop around, you can save about $100 building it yourself. It's also more fun.

Well. Buying one already made is cheaper. Get a Dell Demention (?) 2400. It does not have alot of ram (128 or 256 I beleive) but you can upgrade later anyways. And it has an option between 2.2 GHZ and 2.4 GHZ when you buy it. Sounds close to what you want. 👍
