Use the handbrake and be sure to not just tap it, hold it for a second, get some big angle then slam the power on.
Make sure you are in a high reving gear (not rev limiter, although using the rev limiter once a drift is in action is handy to stop the car spinning wildly off the track)
Use counter steer but be sure to feather it or 'flick' the steering a lot quickly to get the right amount of turn (if using DS3)
Feather the throttle and remember, more power generally means more spin, less will straighten up.
Maybe being aggressive with the turn will help you.
Also, all the pro's here do this without even knowing...
Read the cars weight transfer, its easily noticeable as the cars weight shifts from left to right , front to back and visa versa.
knowing when the weight transfer happens and where it goes can allow you to predict an action, therefore your in full control.
EXAMPLE...
I'm entering the 1st hairpin on Tsukuba... After the S.... The turn goes left, my car is 45' to the right at full left lock. and its not looking like I can make the turn in time at this speed, hit the brake (normal foot brake) and the weight transfer will throw all weight on the front tires, increasing front end grip , hopefully this should throw the car to the left, then a quick right hand counter steer and your done.
Tricks like this are picked up and used without even knowing your doing it.
