Viper, yes it is an audio file type, I think you need to read up on what it is. You want some examples?

I'll repeat what I said before. You CANNOT covert music (wav, mp3, cda, etc.) into a MIDI format. It just doesn't work since they work quite differently.
For the uneducated above, let's explain what a MIDI format is.
MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. It has a set of commands and instructions to control sound devices, like synthesizers or sound cards. MIDI files have no sound, only instructions. The sounds that you hear come from the sound device.
So, converting music (wav, mp3, cda, etc.) or sound wave recording into a file format that only consists of instructions is not only impossible, but quite stupid.

I'll retract my prior statement, as to I misunderstood how you wrote your reply. I thought you meant that there wasn't such a filetype. My bad.
