How come PD hasn't included old school Fords (i.e. Torino Talladega, Mustang Mach 10, Boss 327 & 429) in Gran Turismo, but yet Turn 10 has included the Boss 429 in Forza 2.

Can somebody please answer my question? Please?

1. Because they can't include every car.
2. Because PD is japanese, so more japanese cars.

Yeah, I know, but they had the shelby GT350 (GT2 & 4) and GT500 (GT2).

plus, they included the Charger, Challenger, Chevelle (4544speed) Road Runner (as "Plymouth Muscle Car" in GT2; weird) GTO, '67 cougar, GTX, 'cuda, '69 Camaro Z28 AND SS, and The Ultimate Muscle car: The SUPERBIRD!

so, all that's missing now is 442, Some old school trans-am and firebirds, some yenko camaros (wiki it) dart, and a bunch others That I can't remember right now.

see my point? Polyphony is missing out on so many great muscle cars. is Ford intentionally leaving these great ones out just so PD can concentrate on its existing models? I mean, it makes no sense!

Because of the amount of countries this game gets spread put to , it is really to hard for PD to focus on just American muscle cars , they are looking at the whole world and it's interests in cars from their country as well.

I agree on the whole muscle car thing , I love all the classic American muscle as much as the next guy , but I will take what PD offers and be happy with it.

We only got 2 cars in GT4, neither were old school, 1 in GT3, and that was a race car, think your lucky to have had a dozen or so chosen.

Ah, here's a question that I know the answer to. PD, who is Japanese, obviously puts their cars in front of other countries, especially evident with the Skyline syndrome. ;) But, here's the thing, Turn 10 is owned by Microsoft, who as you shall know, is located literally across the block from me. We are Americans, and therefore put our cars ahead of the game. But seeing the sheer number of cars that come from each country, we (I think) have just over the amount of cars they have. So it's a case of Disk space over all.

EDIT: Woo! 2000th post here at GTPlanet!

the less muscle cars in the game the better. I only ever used them as I had to for some races. I would much rather the game concentrated on european and japanese cars.

What in the world is a Boss 327 ?????

Seriuosly though the number one answer to your question is because the games is a Japan based game. Also in general the 60's muscle cars are not really that great as road course cars when compared to cars in general. However I am sure when they are set up right and tuned for the track like in the original T/A racing series that they can set some fast laps. Perhaps with all the rage of the revived muscle cars, mustang, challenger, cuda, camaro and others that they will include the modern day machines and their 60's parents. They sure offered a decent selection of 60's and 70's etc. Japan models in GT4. Hopefully they will do the same for the rest of the world.

We got 5 cars in GT4

FTR Falcon (copy paste from GT3)
FPV Falcon GT-P
FPV Falcon F6 Typhoon (similar looking cars)
Holden Commodore SS
Holden Monaro (04)

I'm sorry, I know I'm going to get a lot of stick for this but muscle cars weren't meant for GT, old ones I mean, you know, the kind which gave American cars their bad name (which I hasten to add is no longer true)? Leaf sprung suspension, live axles, brakes made of the finest Camembert (i.e. cheese), weighing in at over 2000kg, aerodynamics of a brick... You can't deny that muscle cars aren't exactly in their element on the track, unless it's Daytona Speedway, they're generally the exact opposite of what you want for track racing.

So, what I want to know is where are all the British ultralightweights that are purpose built for track racing? I mean, there was no Lotus Exige, no Ariel Atom, no Caterham that you could actually use in a race, no Ultima GTR, no Radicals! Surely they deserve to be included just as much as the F1, LMP1/2 and GT1/2/3 cars, considering they are built to go around corners at stupid speeds, which they frequently do. Glad TVR made it in, though.

Of course, this thread could just turn into 'why didn't my country's cars get picked for GT4/5?'. It's a valid point, but unfortunately at the same time it's one with a very simple answer which has already been given. PD are Japanese; Japanese cars are their focus, I can only hope that now we have DLC they'll carry on developing cars for GT5 after the release instead of just working on GT6, maybe then we'll see more 'niche' (read: blindingly obvious choice) cars?

And it's still only 5 when you consider our rich automotive history, so I'd say Americans had it very good. Of course, not even the Japanese got everything in GT4, SC400, Eunos Cosmo triple rotor, and SVX were all absent.
