I would like to race someone...

How is this done? We don't race online or we do? I'm new here but not new in GT1/2/3.

Do we just post times? I would have to do it in Arcade because I have yet to get a memory card.

Hello, welcome to GTPlanet! You don't really race online directly with each other, but you just post your times and any other information that is needed from the challenge organizers. Just take a look around at a few of the threads in this forum - most of them are challenges that you're more than welcome to enter and compete in. Or, if you feel like it, lay down the rules and start your own competition. And, if you need any help with anything at all, just let me know and I'll be glad to help you out.

not everyone has video capture cards and digital cameras...


I want to know, because I was thinking of starting a proper league site, where you would have divisions and leagues, using a user and login system.

So you could sign up and enter races and you might get stats like 'Won X amount of races etc' However, doing something like that, whats stopping people from just submitting a bogus time thats totally fake, and on the other hand, you feel sorry for the great drivers who set the winning time yet no one believes them...

Still, if I can find a simple way of proving your time it could be very cool.

Well, there's really no way to make sure the times are valid, it's just something you've got to take with an amount of caution and trust your fellow racers.

These help, but unfortunately, they too can be easily manipulated and changed.

"Real-time" online racing will only be available once Polyphony Digital integrates it into the game, which is scheduled for the release of Gran Turismo Network in spring '03. Of course, if I can, I will try to provide a server just for our members to race with each other.
