International Automotive Design (IAD) was a British design company that, in its time, was the largest independent R&D company of its kind in the world, with over 1,400 employees in over 7 different countries. Among other things, IAD is responsible for the design of the original Mazda MX-5.

In 1989 IAD designed the Venus, a sports car with the drivetrain of a Lotus Elite, and in 1990 a fully functional prototype was built. One interesting feature of it was that the wheels are almost entirely covered, like the RedBull racers already on GranTurismo. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any performance figures for the Venus, but with Lotus internals, it wouldn't have been slow...
