IDEA: FGT4 Competition - Starts today.

The FGT4 Competition; an idea by Me and NTX1982.
FGT4 stands for Fully GT4

The concept of this competition is simple, yet it's very tought out;

• Races only
• When going into photo mode in the replay, you have 64 angles to pick a shot from, just do nothing to them, pick one, click, save on your USB and edit following the rules.
• Rules will be PMC and 2.0, changes weekly
• Synchronized Replay not allowed

If everything works out fine and people understand the rules, i can start this comp a.s.a.p

You go into photo mode, races only, race a few laps or so, and then you go into photo mode. You have 64 angles in front of you. You change NOTHING on them, absolutely nothing, not the angle turning, not brightness, no NOTHING. the parameters stay the same, and you can choose from the 64 available shots.

Then you get them to your PC, first week will be PMC, next week 2.0, and that keeps going like that.

If everything works out fine and people understand the rules, i can start this comp a.s.a.p

Yes and no, sometimes we have certain tracks/races but sometimes just regular themes.

And it's easy to see if somebody zoomed or not, used a tone, or changed a other parameter/turned the angle etc etc.

BTW, using synchronized replay for shots is not allowed

Ah now I completely understand. Yes it is a good idea I would be willing to take part for certain.

No, just really nothing editing ingame! It's just hoping the shot you have in your screen is good!

sounds good but how can you determine if the entry is one of the 64
since it is so random, anyone can mimic the shot by using default setting

I have faith in people here, i don't believe there are any cheaters here.
There isn't a good way of determining it, but if everybody sticks to the rules this can be a nice competition.

I always find my shots look crap without putting the exposure up a few notches. We might end up with a bunch of darkened shots.

When you mean 64, do you mean the amount of shots or the amount of angles for shots you can pick between, but I think you mean about 64 different shots.

No TCS Needed, read the rules, in PMC and in 2.0 you can brighten with photoshop, just not with GT4.

Thats a problem, you can't run guidelines based on faith. Because unfortunately not everyone is honest. I think you'll find flaws with this competition, and i'm uncertain of participation levels. If you go back, possibly re-think your approach with some more substantial thoughts and idea's it could turn out to be a half decent competition. At the moment i dont see how this competition can be of any advantage over the other competitions, which is how you will make it successful. Sorry to be blunt and negetive.

I think most people on this site are honest people. This contest is in an advantage because of it's difference in my opinion.

i think that if you went with 2.0 rules every week (its hard to get a too dark shot right with just b/c) and focus and camera positions then you might have a bit more luck. at least in the short term.

but, im not interested because im not good at, nor do i enjoy, addvanced editing and prefer to get the most out of the in-game tools.
