Ideas for a compact cockpit

Okay, I'm definintly going to get a wheel before GT5 comes out. It'll probably be the DFGT, because I'm not going to drop $200+ on a wheel for a game when that was HALF the price of my car.

Anyways, I could really use some help designing a "cockpit" that I could disassemble/move easily. I have a couple of armchairs that I'd probably use for it. I'd like for the steering wheel to be adjustable, and have the pedals mounted onto something that wouldn't slip.

That's basically what my chair is, minus the reclining motion. It's on a swivel, but that won't be much of a problem. So that covers what the rig would be on.

For the rig itself: Would a table from a furniture store or something amongst those lines work? Mounting the wheel on the tabletop and having the pedals go underneath? I've seen some really cool rigs before, but since I'm a broke kid, I really don't want to drop a lot of money on this.

Anyways, help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

have you thought about a sturdy laundry board??? No seriously thought check out the cheap cockpit thread and take your time looking. There are some great ideas in there and some you can combine to make really nice cockpits at a low cost. Also some people have been having really good results with pvc or abs piping. easy to put together, cheap and light.

Yeah, I'm probably going to go with the PVC idea. Either that or the ironing board. I'm going to hold off for a while on the DFGT. It's $99 on amazon.com, and that was probably to coincide with GT5's expected release. Either way, they're be another sale, and Black Friday is coming up too. I might shop around for the DFGT on Cyber Monday too.
