in any car, what are some of the things to change and tune to make it faster

Just wandering what a basic overall set up would be for ever car to do a better quarter mile ( not special stage 7, 2 mile long straight lol).

I understand the basics like;
-slight downforce to plant the tourqe
-lower gear ratios, but how low? ( i know it depends on the rpm pull range)
-Suspension is a part im lost at
-anything else?

With the suspension on a rear wheel drive car you will probably want the default spring rate in the front, increased in the back, damper bound set 8F/10R, rebound 1F/6R. That should help send traction to the back.

Gear ratios I'm not sure on, usually when I try running 1/4 mile I try to set it so the car is about to hit redline in top gear, but I dont know if thats the proper way to set it up.

edit: And make sure you mod the car too.

So initially i would want to harden the springs in the back to pop the tourqe faster i presume?

And for gear ratios you mean hitting red line of the final gear it hits by the end of the quarter?

Please enlighten us as to why you made duplicate threads?? If we see it once, we don't need to see it again and again. For that reason (obviously patience isn't one of your strengths), I'm not going to help. All I will say is that from all my years of drag tuning, that setup isn't right for a 1/4 mile sprint.

Hardening the springs should keep the car from sagging (dont really know the right word) in the back when you hit the gas, so the power goes to the wheels faster.

For gear ratios I had it set up so if the car was a 6 speed it would be about to redline in 6th at the end of the run, but like I said, Im not sure thats the proper thing to do.

Also forgot to mention turning off TCS should help since that takes power away.

He has done it before aswell, here 1/4 Mile is now possible and here A 1/4 mile is now possible look! to go with this thread in the correct place. 1/4 mile is now possible

*facepalm* Obviously someone has just scrolled through the AUP without reading it and is now creating useless duplicate threads, spamming the place up and making himself look about as bright as a tree stump.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Wow, after five years I thought I'd seen it all on here.....obviously I was wrong. I seriously hope all the other drag tuners have a read of this so they can just shake their heads in disbelief like I am right now. In two posts, you've told him everything that you DON'T do in Gran Turismo for drag racing.
