Write any 5 questions that you would like to ask Kaz at the upcoming games event in Tokyo ... Plz stick to 5 or less questions ... It can be an indicator on what players mostly want to know more about GT6 ... If anyone from GTP is going to Tokyo and had the opportunity to interview Kaz or ask him at a press conference, please try to drop in there one or two of the most asked questions here. Thaaankk youuu :gtpflag:

1. How long does it REALLY take to visually model a car (not including those MR cars with extra detail in the trunk)?

2. Will free roam be possible at locations like Andalucia or is it being considered for future GT titles?

3. Can you go into detail about body modifications and will there be future updates to that aspect of the game in any way?

4. Is tuning going to be more extensive (taking into consideration that hacking in GT5 was a positive to many) and will there be significantly more tuning parts available?

5. With GT6 having the ability to be accessed from multiple devices including PC's, will the sharing of custom tracks and photos be easier, along with online races/series/leagues being more easily known and spread (considering that finding a race, or room, online in GT5 seemed to be limited)?

6. Who da man?

Not sure if it qualifies as the same but we had an "ask kaz 3 questions" thread...

I'd say stick with this new one. First of all, that thread started after the Silverstone event in May. The last post in that thread says Something about how seriously that thread was taken; well, the first page says Something about that thread, PERIOD. And with this new thread made specifically for TGS will be more visible (and readable) to anyone from PD who goes to forums for feedback.

1. What is your favourite racing game apart from Gran Turismo?

2. What are the three elements of other racing games would you most like to add to Gran Turismo, and which games are they from?

3. What are the three most important aspects of real life racing that aren't in Gran Turismo now, but you would like to add?

4. If you were to describe the stereotypical Gran Turismo player, what would he or she be like? Age, profession, family and lifestyle, etc.

5. If you were able to make the ultimate Gran Turismo tomorrow, money and computing power no object, what three aspects of real life racing would you NOT include?

Interviewing technique: Ask for a certain number of responses, be it one or three or whatever. It gives the question focus. If they have more information that they want to share after the three responses, they'll probably do it anyway.

1. When are you going to finally give us a full, Forza-style livery editor?

2. When are you going to finally give us full visual and performance customization, and a more complex tuning system?

3. When are you going to stop coming it with Cape Rings and Kart Spaces and bring back some classic tracks that people have been waiting over a decade for?

4. When are you going to give us online free roam?

5.When are you going to stop focusing on green cars, the latest and greatest sports models, and incredibly rare classics that aren't really fit to race, and give us some semi-classic cars? Things like the Ferrari 360 & F50, the SN99 Ford Mustang, and the 4th gen F-bodies that were all over video games about 10 years ago are pretty much forgotten now (though the latter two are available as standards, they aren't paid much attention), despite still being quick and, in many cases, quite good looking. You have a new Ford Focus ST, but I can't find the original Ford Focus SVT (though the STANDARD Focus ST170 might count). Or an Escort Cosworth RS. Try bringing us a large number of premium cars that are older than 2005 but newer than 1975!

I was being serious in that last post. Some manufacturers don't like games to portray their cars running fron the police, but remember, pace cars use lightbars too...

Why are late model Mustangs ignored in GT games?
Do all the Aftermarket parts seen at SEMA every year impact what tuning options are available for what cars?
How long does it take to model one car both standard and premium?
What criteria is used to determine what cars appear in GT games?
How has the changes to Japanese car culture in the last ten years impacted GT games?

1. What was up with that Porsche in GT3?

2. What was up with those cool Miatas in GT3?

3. What was up with that Stratos in GT3?

4. How much tracks and game ideas ended up getting cut from GT2?

5. What ever happened to the CLK GTR in GT2?

That's it.

Good to you see you know how to read, Toro. :grumpy:

I saw that, and since it was written so unclear I didn't take it to mean anything beyond "ask him questions about GT6 if you want." And since the majority of the questions asked so far are either "bluh bluh why do you suck" with all the subtlety of a brick; or questions that Kaz would never give a straight answer to in even this hypothetical impromptu interview (as they always are for these types of threads, as you pointed out above), I took the optional path and put together 5 questions that I feel would be answered if they were asked rather than just only if they were after the press release already answered them all.

Also, most importantly: I don't care about GT6 news that comes from loaded questions that you'd basically have to ambush him over to even ask; whereas I am quite interested in stuff about the history of the series, particularly the development of my favorite two games in the series which had tons of stuff chopped out of them to meet the development dates.

Thus, 5 questions entirely about that, only one of which I'd think might be avoided.

1 Why haven't you scrapped standards?
2 When you re-model cars are you going to model all the cars you have currently (with the exception of the 16 basically duplicate cars)
3 Why not wheels made in Europe, America, and Japan, from all the major manufactures and various size selections?
4 Why not more in depth car modifications? Such as various bumpers, spoilers/ability to remove then, lips, and other body parts made in the aftermarket of most of the cars. Also engine tuning, displacement upgrades, turbo anything, different types of superchargers and the subsequent affects?
5 Have you thought of employing more people to meet the great ideas the community tries to offer with other games in mind when they desire additions/updates to the game to keep it current with the times?

It depends on whether they have a 3d scan, CAD model, or just pictures for reference. Even with pictures for reference, the quality of them makes a huge difference. I've been working in visual effects for a few years, and based on the detail level of GT5 premium cars, at around 100k polys or so, I'd estimate 50-80 hours of work to model the car, 10-16 to texture, and then I'd think they have a shader library that is almost universal across all the cars.

I'd have to agree on this, even if there is mid engine details needed to be done. This is from my work I've done in CAD, Catia and other items, along with CFD.

because of this...
tornado should be striped of his privilege to ask XD
YESsir.

Tornado, no. Those questions you would love to know about GT3, 1, 4, 3 or the Prologues and Demos and Concepts aren't pertinent in knowing anything about GT6.

Maybe including something about GT5 would be better. Something like: The Standard open-wheeled cars in GT5 were given minorly detailed interiors. Should we expect that most of them will become fully-Premiumized in GT6? I wonder.

EDIT
It depends on whether they have a 3d scan, CAD model, or just pictures for reference. Even with pictures for reference, the quality of them makes a huge difference. Asking him straight up how long they REALLY take to visually model the cars would possibly lead to an "on average..." answer. On average, I really doubt it takes six months to visually model a car and this could then be followed by a question (if it wasn't raised before he answered the initial question) about whether or not his "six months per car" estimate involves everything that isn't visual, so things like: car backfires :D, driver animations, all sounds, physics (which there's a system for that so it might not be as time-consuming as the rest, but to get the general physics system up to the par that it is has probably been the most time-consuming over the course of GT's history).

Lately, he's been going into more detail when he responds to a question which the size of the "Course Maker" skeptic question would be the most recent example. He didn't need to say that it'll probably only be 50x50km. Over-hyping, misleading, careless replies and replies to questions that are ambiguously worded are a thing of the past, Tornado. Get with the times and EMBRAAAACCCCE.

Why ask specific questions about GT6 anyway? They'll have planned very carefully what they will and won't reveal about GT6. Ask anything outside of that and you'll get the standard Kaz serving of waffles. And rightly so, GT6 stuff will be revealed on PDs timetable and no sooner.

Ask questions about GT7 and beyond now, because no one expects the Spanish Inquisition. Get your information early, before they even think about trying to hide it.

I don't think Pd has universal any thing. They don't recycle anything =/ except car models. They would save so much time and effort if they made generic looking trees for each track, but nope. Each track has its own kind of trees..

Since you specifically drew attention to where I said I didn't care, then ignored it anyway, tell me why I should care that my questions have nothing to do with GT6.

"So how about a livery editor?"

"It's technically possible."

You're also continuing to fail to grasp the fact that if Kaz isn't allowed to give specific answers to questions, he won't give specific answers to questions. Which means unless it's about something they have already announced in a press release or trade show, you won't get an answer for it.

Lolwut? The OP clearly says "It can be an indicator on what players mostly want to know more about GT6." He never said it must.

Well, that went well. I think we'll just stick to the thread that johnnypenso linked to.
