If you got to ask Kazunori three questions...

Despite the expected and sometimes hilarious sillyness, there are some good questions here. Some top ranking material up to this point:

. . . . . . . ^ A company making a product that sold 9 million units at $50 a pop would certainly have the capital to invest in a stronger workforce, no? Where is the money going? What percentage goes to the corporate heads at Sony? I understand Kaz desperately wants to keep the 'soul on display' when making these games, but hiring more modelers to shorten the 6 man-month-per-car conundrum should have no effect on the soul or intimacy of Gran Turismo. None. He and his closest crewmembers need to spend more of their extremely precious time on more important things now.

After these great questions from you guys, I just want to expand on a topic that has been mentioned but not propertly asked in my humble opinion:

What are your thoughts on a full blown Custom Event Creator- you know with the ability to string races into a points championship, set parameters, choose classes or even individual opponents and tune them, etc- giving your game infinite replayability, online AND offline?

(yes I know the recent silverstone presentation says GT6 will have a championship creator- but that has the word "online" firmly attached to it which is a bit worrying to say the least..)

.

Yep, you highlighted the best material so far, especially regarding the AI. It's really just mindboggling why it hasn't been seriously improved, or why they haven't hired people who can create competitive, realistic AI. My questions:

Firstly I would make sure he would not give any vague answers, otherwise I would be wasting my time.

1. Do you think having 1000+ cars is really that great when for several given categories you couldn't fill a grid with 12-16 unique, or current cars? (ie pickup truck races with 3 different vehicles, Supercar Nostalgia Races with 5 different cars with several Miuras looking identical, dated car list like DTMs and Le Mans)

2. In what categories do you think Forza is superior to GT, and how would you address this? In what categories do you think GT is better than Forza, and why? After considering this, do you think from an objective comparison that GT is better?

3. Why do you think Forza has grown into Gran Turismo's main competitor, with several fan requested features that GT does not have (more realistic damage appearance, 'better' sounds, Livery editors, a more rounded car list) despite the first Forza Motorsport game being made after GT4 was released? What would be your solution to this?

I'd go with these three.

1. What is your name?

2. Can I go for a ride in your Ford GT?
3. Will you marry me?

On a serious note, researchALLwars has compiled a great list up there, would pretty much ask those questions if I was prepared for a real interview.

As for personal interest, one main question I would love to ask Yamauchi is what he thinks about a realistic free drive mode in an open world, and if it will ever find an inclusion in Gran Turismo after it has been dropped from GT5's early development.

Alright let's get some more of these in- some good ones please. And here's to hoping that our main man Jordan was privy to this thread before his session with you-know-who..

Hey, thanks man. I long for this game to regain it's proper place at the top- and I strongly believe that fun-factor and replayabililty are the avenues which PD should take to get there. Also, from his earlier answers to questions about a free-roam mode, it seems that Kaz is definitely down with some a dat. It's just a matter of where it fell in the priority list, which always seems to be a dice-roll at best. :scared:

1. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?

2. When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?

3. Two trains leave different cities heading toward each other at different speeds. Train A, traveling 70 mph, leaves Osaka heading toward Nagano, 260 miles away. At the same time Train B, traveling 60 mph, leaves Nagano heading toward Osaka. When do the two trains meet?

1_ Will GT6 have a completely new AI model which will provide the player with a challenge and sense of being in a race and not taking part in a procession?

2_ Will GT6 include features listed for, but absent from, GT5 such as a livery editor and community clubs for example?

3_ Is there a Vita GT in development or are there advanced plans for such a game?

1. Will bring GT6 a full livery editor?
2. Will bring GT6 online races with more than 16 players?
3. Will the new Course Maker be able to create 1-way tracks?

1: Will GT6 offer more guidance on tuning cars? Many players don't have a clue on this.

2: What will be the biggest difference in GT6 compared to GT5?

3: What kind of completely new possibilities will the PS4 bring for the GT series?

Jordan will no doubt ask all the important questions but you have to be realistic he wouldn't go in and tell the creator of the game "Well the sound sucks, there is no damage,I've seen better A.I on PS1 games and who is the wise guy behind standard cars" Is he ;)

1) Why don't you just realise that 10 years have passed, take all the standards and place them where they deserve (garbage)? Almost 500 premiums is still a great number of cars, and it would actually make the game BETTER if you got rid of those heirlooms that NOBODY ever bothers to use.

2) Why are you maniacally obsessed with graphic details and car physics, but still you stick to crappy, short, unworthy A-SPEC with no qualifications, no flags system, rolling starts and shameful AI?

3) WHAT IF I TOLD YOU that you would still sell A LOT of copies without making use of those misleading, pre-rendered, eye candy trailers?

Now how did you attribute such an attitude to me when all I said was "Here's to hoping Jordan is aware.." ?

Of course he's not going to pull that crap, nor would any self respecting GTPlanet member want him to. You must be allowing all of the childish negativity to seep into your mind a bit. Develop a better filter to block that s*** aside, and focus on the more intelligent points, please.

Jordan usually does a good job of asking solid questions, and avoiding the tired, off-point BS that many journos seem to always ask..

"uhh so tell us more about the cars, were you able to make them shinier for GT6? doiiiiiii..."

GET that mess outta here!

Wow you miss interpeted that by a long shot.

Meant He would do what he can but there is a limitation of freedom to what he can ask for example in an ideal world a good sound question is "why are the sounds terrible " ,but he could probably only ask something along the lines of "Seems the sounds are still close what GT5,so any chance you could be improving it in the future" which he will recieve a vague answer like "we are working on it"

SO in other words I'll echo what I meant which is don't expect too much. ;)

Why have you been ignoring engine sounds for so many years?
Why have you been ignoring the lame AI for so many years?
Will you please cancel the chase the rabbit formula and bring back fixed starts and qualifying?

PLEASEEEE

I would ask if we will ever get the following 3 things
1/ real damage on all cars
2/ a livery editor
3/ a version of gran turismo with every car nd track from all the previous gran turismo games :)

Alright we are likely on the same page now- BUT.. Do you see the problem with that hypothetical question? It's WAY too vague to begin with. "Are you improving" should be replaced with something much more specific and thought-provoking like "Will you implement sound slider options so the player can turn down the engine bay noise and turn up the exhaust to his/her liking?"

Or, "when you watch a race or play a clip of a specific car on the internet or TV, the same car in GT will sound very different. Have you tried this intricate technique when developing the sounds of the virtual cars in GT?"

Or, "when watching a replay in GT using the "replay camera" only, the sound heard when your vantage point is in FRONT of the car is almost all engine bay sounds- to a very extreme degree, but when the camera gets behind the car, the sound changes almost exclusively to the wonderful exhaust note that we all love. Do you think that maybe the 'engine bay' sounds are too prominent- especially when racing in the car, on the hood, or even chase cam?"

If you ask him a vague, broad question, then you may deserve such a vague answer.

1.) Will we have engine conversions in GT6?
2.) Will the sound quality of exhaust note be better?
3.) Will Circuits of the Americas and Yas Marina Circuit be in GT6?

1: Id ask for a bigger creative element to the game, (better) track editor and a livery editor

2: better sounds

3: Bigger lag free online lobbys

1 - Will there be time trial leaderboards in GT6? Why were they missing from GT5?

2 - Will there ever be an option to fully adjust the FOV in cockpit view?

3 - In this day and age why can't I pick and choose what I see in the HUD? It's more or less either on or off!

Bonus question....

Will there be a proper career mode with proper racing instead of a 'level up' system with overtake challenges?

1. Are there going to be standard cars and "standard" tracks in GT7?
2. Looking forward to a PS4 version of GT, what new key physics features would you like to implement that you haven't yet done and why?
3. What role do you think AI plays in a racing game like Gran Turismo?

But seriously...

1. Race Modification with basic liveries was available but on only 17 cars in GT5. How has this been expanded on for GT6, and will there be a Livery Editor to support user created race cars?

2. You mentioned that GT6 would support the creation of racing clubs and leagues, as well as racing series and championships online. Could you expand on the online structure, and does this mean that we will get an Event Maker useful for creating our own events off- and online?

3. GT Academy has been a hallmark achievement for you and NISSAN. Will there be a Career Mode in GT6 or 7 which is a reflection of this, and the progression of a young sports car enthusiast from a weekend racer to racing in a professional league?

Hi Kaz....

Will you guarantee a more cohesive and rewarding A-Spec mode with better prizes and and an incentive to use more of the cars in my garage (like GT4 with manufacturers championships)?

Can you please update the FGT into a premium car with better downforce and make it sound like a 1994 Ferrari 412T1?

As far as sound design, why cant a V8 sound like a V8, a V12 sound like a V12 and so on? It's a huge disappointment when cars sound nothing like their configuration. You know you used the Gallardo sample for the Murci's and Aventador. Your SLS GT3 in the demo sounds like the DB9 sample from GT5.....

1. What other new cars & tracks have been put into GT6?
2. Will their be a livery editor?
3. Which standard cars have been converted to premium status?
