So, I took two Acetomenophens at about 8:17 PM today. At about 10:30 PM I took a half a tablespoon of Nyquil. To cut to the chase, will I die?

I hate to clog up this forum but I'm really shaky right now and am a little worried. I didn't really take a lot of Nyquil, and the Acetomenophen I took wasn't the strong kind, but nevertheless, I'm a little worried. :nervous:

You probably have no reason for serious concern but I'd head to a clinic or hospital anyway's as the combination can be life threatening if enough was taken, as even on the Nyquil warning's it say's never to take with Acetomenophens.

I agree. You should report to the clinic right away.

Let's hope he didn't just post this then go to sleep. If so hope you feel better in the morning Crispy.

You're fine.

Just think about questions you ask as if you were posting them on yahoo! answers, if you feel like someone might laugh at you for posting the question, you probably shouldn't post it.

You gotta go to a clinic to consult with your doctor about the symptoms of disorder out of condition and specifically what you did other than taking antipyretic pills then, a wrong way of taking medicines could be life-threatening instead of becoming an aid to get your physical condition back. Get in a hurry! :yuck:

How many mg of Acetaminophen did you intake? You shouldn't take in more than 3500 mg per day, 4000 mg being the limit. As for going to the clinic, it would depend on how much of a hassle it is.

Depending on your current health, the most something like that would do is probably make you extremely nauseous. It'd be rare for an overdose to happen from that, esp. when you took them around 2 hours apart.

If you're that worried, talk to your doctor tomorrow & he/she will tell you the risks.

On a serious note I absolutely hate taking any sort of medication because I always have to be cautious of things like this. I'm just glad that I wasn't born with anything that would cause me to take pills. (In other words I take no medications for anything). Good luck with not dying.

I agree with McLaren on this, but like you, Crispy, I always freak out at medical stuff.

Two acetaminophens that weren't the strong kind probably means 400mg total. I would suggestyou see a doctor to be safe, but you probably have nothing to worry about.

The reason they say don't take acetaminophen and Nyquil together is because Nyquil contains acetaminophen, making it potentially easy to overdoes. Half a tablespoon of Nyquil (provided it contains the same amount as the Dayquil I have) contains ~162mg of acetaminophen. Provided you're over 50kg and didn't go over 1000mg, you're fine.

Drugs, and things of the sort. I try to stay away from in general, often that isn't possible when it comes to medication..

I hope your alright, I almost killed myself sniffing a solvent a few years back (Glue)

All types of medication are bad for your health if you are in no need to take them.

What he said. ( I'm a M.D. )

Don't worry guys, I'm okay.

The dosage of Acetaminophen was quite low. I also have no health problems, as I'm quite young, so my liver is in perfect shape.

The reason I didn't see a doctor first is because it's late at night so the Care Now was closed, and the Hospital is a little farther. I thank everyone for your help though, I was more or less just really really worried rather than feeling anything wrong. You guys helped to give me some piece of mind!

EDIT: They were extra strength. I took exactly 15ml of Nyquill.

For the the future read labels and go to a doctor if your worried don't post it on GTP...

Oh man, I was relieved to hear you're alright, but please take care of yourself and don't make a clown of yourself any more! :indiff:

If you can ensure you're able to control the amount of the drugs whenever you intake them, a dose of medication would not be harmless for your health and mind within the range of correct amounts. But it's actually up to the judgment of individuals whether you take pills for recovery of your physical condition or avoid doing it for concern of bringing about further problems related to constituents of drugs, unless their illness is too serious to be neglected.
