I'm confused.com

Can anyone help enlighten me as to what this one was up to?



This was in tonight's Gr3 daily race, last corner, last lap. He was 2nd, had been for pretty much the whole race. I'm the first guy that comes round after him in 3rd, where I had been for pretty much the whole race.
As you can see he was a good bit ahead. I can think of absolutely no reason why any sane person would just park their car and throw away a good race?
What exactly do you think he was trying to do here? The yellow flag came out but obviously no one got a penalty for passing him as he was the cause of the yellow.
This is a B/S rated driver btw.
My only thought is that he was trying to get people penalties and or make them crash into him? Strange one he was.

I was going to suggest maybe he had to take a dump, But he wasn't idle long enough, Your guess is as good as mine.

Real life calling? Door bell? Who knows. There are plenty of reasons why someone could park the car instead of quitting the race. I don't see this as him trying to screw someone over.

I raced this person yesterday at Interlagos - we'd had a good battle for the lead over several laps and then they quit the race when leading on lap 9...

I was having issues with the PSN yesterday so I assumed that was the reason for their exit, but looking at this, maybe not?

Seen similar to this only me and the guy were having a good battle for 1st, he started on pole and battled for 3 or 4 laps then he just parked it on last bend. I messaged him and asked what happened. He said he was just getting poles for the achievement and going for fastest lap as well.

yeah I'd say they're after poles/fastest laps in a lower DR than they deserve so by not finishing the race in a high position they won't go up to a higher level (and likely to to drop further and make it even easier to achieve)

Something similar happened to me on the Nurburgring Focus race the other day! I was in 3rd pretty close to the guy in 2nd (But not close enough to threaten taking him before the finish). After the last corner he just shot to the right and gave me 2nd!! Initially I thought he may have had a penalty he was trying to shift but i saved the replay and re-watched it and discovered he stopped, turned his car and drove back down the track!!

There must be a bug or something we are yet to hear about because I doubt these are two isolated incidents!!

It was the last corner of the last lap, literally 3 seconds of the race left.

And I watched the whole replay from his car he didn't do anything that would have given him a penalty.

Maybe the trying to scrub off DR theory is correct.

I was on that race (2nd car that passes by) and I was thinking the same. Maybe he is just doing that to low his rank and win more races.

Must be trying to lower DR. If you lower your DR through tactics like this then you should then get easier wins, more pole positions and things like that for a short period until your DR goes back up again.

Honestly it kind of looks like he might trying to draw a yellow flag to see if it gives people penalties... (which it doesn’t) ... I really don’t know what he was doing though haha congrats on 2nd
