sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i don't know anywhere else to post it.

ok, i'm very early in the game. i've completed all the sunday cup and ff challenge races in beginner events. however, i don't have an fr car or an mr car to do the fr and mr races with. i have only 9,068 credits in the bank and 4 cars...a mitsubishi eclipse, a mazda mazda6 concept, a mazda rx-7 gtx, and a vw lupo.

so, do i need to sell all my cars and buy a fr or an mr car? if so which is the best one? or can i get some licenses and use those prize cars to finish these races?

thanks.

The RX-7 is an FR car.

And, yes, you should do your licenses too.

And your thread isn't about settings, so I'll move it to the general GT4 forum

You have the RX-7 GT-X which is one of the better beginner FR cars. Use it for the FR races, if it doesn't cut it, soup it up a bit with those nine grand you have and try again. It should be able to do it stock though.

EDIT - Too little too late. :)

Hi, trader_kid, and welcome to GTP.

Others have mentioned it, but let me suggest that you go work on your licenses one at a time. Get the A license - you'll win a prize car for each level you achieve on all the tests (bronze/silver/gold). So if you get all bronze and some silver, you'll win the bronze-level prize car. If you get all silver and some gold, you'll get the silver level AND the bronze level cars. It will teach you a bit about driving in the bargain too.

yeah ok i already got the a license and now i'm working on the b. thanks for the help guys.

First off, you dont have to sell any of your cars, just enter the Sunday cup again, clear your medals, and win the car again and sell it. this will get you about cr.12,000 in about 10 mins. You can also do this with the FF challenge.:sly:

Okay a lot of people know this, but it is a good way to get a ton of cash. First follow Duke's advice and obtain all the licenses up to A. This is not too hard, and it nets you two great things in the game. The two races you must run are the first two races in the Special Conditions hall, and both are quick and simple. You only have one opponent in this race and their cars are slow onea like Lancia Deltas, the old Celica, etc. The first race, the Rally D'Umbria is trickier than the second, but it shouldn't give you too much trouble. For winning this race forward and backward, you net yourself the ultra-fast Cadillac Cien, an extremely useful car (which also is an MR;)) that greatly aids you in races.
The second race, Rally de Capri, is easier than the first, following the same two-race style but with better results. You win the amazing Toyota RSC Rally Raid car, a wonderful choice if you want to finish the other dirt and snow rallys. If you do not want the car, you can sell it for a whopping 265,624Cr., plus the extra 10,000Cr. you get by winning the race. This is a very popular get-rich-quick formula, because you can repeat this process over and over again, allowing you to buy race cars early in the game. I hope this helps out:)

Can't you just keep doing that cup over an over, where you unlock that Autobanchi Abarth...

Then sell the prize car, its worth like 8 grand.

For quick money you can do some driving missions, it's quiet boring but the money keeps coming in.

Looks like there are many options on this one.

What level? At least silver? Don't settle for anything less than silver. All golds can wait a while, but you'll learn a lot about driving and double your prize cars if you get all silver instead of just moving on as soon as you get the license.

There are lots of ways. You can drive the same race again and again. You can clear your medals and trophies and win all championships again. You can sell all your cars. You can drive missions etc.

its very easy just do the umbria rally (easy) in special events.
with the cadillac cien you just won do the capri rally (easy) to win a rally car. that rally car will sell for about 265.000 credits

Tip:: do not use the cadillac cien to rae with in teh beginning coz its kinda boring

edit: ow i see someone els has posted this already sorry for this

eh...wow...i must suck compared to the rest of you guys on this board. i only get about 5 silvers on each license. the rest are bronze.

That's why I'm saying don't move on to the next license unless you're all silver on this one. It will teach you a lot about GT4 driving. Don't worry about golds at all at this point. And remember, the coffee breaks are not required at all.

I wouldn't say that you suck.

I would just say that you haven't perfected your driving skill yet.

I agree w/ Duke. take the time to get all silver in the lisence exams.

I also agree w/ BigdaddyGT on running the first two special conditions events. You should be able to compete in the race w/ your RX-7 stock. I managed to do it in my stock 1985 RX-7 GT Limited.

And if I can throw out one more bit of advice. Take the time to get use to driving with the driving aids off. Driving aids really hurt a cars performance.
They really cripple the higher end cars.

Trust me, in the long run you will be happier.

The complete nuts gold B, A, IB and IA before attempting a single race. Wait, that's me! :dopey:

Licenses aren't too bad and can help you later on with trickier sections of tracks, not to mention the cars you get. I'd go for silver at least on dirt/snow licenses as this will help immensely in the special conditions hall if you're one of those going for 100% completion, you will need to hone all your skills to do some of the hard level races.

Don't get down on yourself about metal. You can actually win cars from all bronze trophies or silver! (you used to just win them from Golds). Also, many of us here have been playing GT for a long time...none of us were very good at first. 👍

Don't forget the manufacturer's events! The RX7 can do the Amemeeedaweeda Cup (whatever the hell it's called) and that pays out pretty good at 3,000 credits a pop. Also there's a Lupo Cup, but I believe the Ai drives racing Cup cars instead of dealer's cars. :grumpy: But I still managed to let my B-spec driver win these...which means when I personally do them (A-spec) they won't be all that difficult.

As PARAGON GT says: turn those driving aids off!!!! Or leave TCS on 1 if you really are having a hard time with wheel-spin. ASM hinders more than it helps in my opinion. Sure you'll spin here and there, but you'll also learn what it takes to have that spin occur in the first place. Next time, you won't be so hasty with cornering or power! 💡 see?

No Greycap, the true nuts gold S licence too, gold all coffee breaks, and then complete all 34 missions before attempting a single race!

Or at least I did.....

 There is no T in Cadillac Cien!!! :dunce:

Don't be seduced too much by this "Get Rich Quick!" technique though, as you'll get in the habit of buying your way, (i.e. tuning you cars with tonnes of HP upgrades etc.,) out of trouble. This is fine for most of beginner & professional halls, but you'll quickly come unstuck in things like GTWC event and some of the faster Extreme, Endurance & Manufacturer events.
Take heed of what you learned in the licence tests and try to apply it in each race. If you're still running off track a lot or bouncing off walls frequently by the time you finish everything up to GTWC, then you'll struggle. :(

OK...i'm not running off the track and bouncing off walls and such with a far superior car and still winning races...i'm playing the game the way it was meant to be played.

i've done some of the manufacturing events, obviously where the cars are evenly matched, and won most of them on the first attempt. they're a lot more exciting races anyway and more fun because they are closer.

You want fun, buy a M5 and do the M club race. Even though its stock, and you face a M3gtr and another M5 (for me anyway) its only 15 points if your car is stock (for me). Its fun to beat your own car in the same form.

Oof:dunce: yeah that can be deadly in races, it happened to me. The technique makes you drunk with money, which will make you modify every car you have to have a speed advantage. The fact that your cars are already faster makes you always confident to win and another easy victory, which starts to eat away the driving skills you took so long to perfect, because you never really need them. This isn't noticible in the start, but when you get to the championships, your opponents have the fastest available cars in the game, so just being fast won't cut it. Never let this happen to you, if it does, stop using the technique and redo the licenses. Believe me, you'll need every trick in the book to beat the final races.
Smallhorses is totally right on this one.

yeah but what races are you using the super-Cien for? No offense.

Very good. 👍
