Afternoon all, I run in a series specifically designed for NASCAR Restrictor Plate racing, to try and resemble actual speeds these cars run rather than hitting the 892 BHP limit. Some rules for the Series are:

BHP set at 502 (but it lets you run at 503)
Racing Hards
Low Tyre Wear

I have a perfect Daytona setup for those races, and not a bad Road setup, but I am struggling in one area for Indy.

I do have a perfect setup for solo runs and qualifying times (I think), managing to hit a Q time of 51.832, and averaging strong 52 flats, but when I get to 25 laps these start to drop dramatically.

I think these are good enough to get poll in the next event, but my problem is that I need a set that runs very low 52's, but gives me approx 35 laps (while running solo). The next race is a 60 lapper and I need to only stop once as I know others will. Running 35 laps solo should give me 30 laps in race conditions.

Current setup for the above is as follows:

Downforce F 35 / R 70 (or max if that's not correct)
LSD T = Max / A = Max / B = 15
Ride Height = 15 / 15
Spring Rate = 15.5 / 13
Dampers (E) = 8 / 4
Dampers (C) = 8 / 4
Anti-Roll Bars = 3 / 3
Camber = 3.0 / 1.0
Toe Angle = 0.10 / 0.20

Current Setup will wear out both the Front Tyres closely followed by Rear Right. I think the rear right will last if I can get the front tyres to wear better, so thats what I need to concentrate on. Increasing F Downforce all the way up will give me 35 laps before losing all rubber on both right side tyres, but at a dramatic loss of pace that I think I need for race conditions.

I'm not asking for specific values (as not sure how may out there have run restrictor plate racing) but if I can be pointed in the direction of what I need to adjust, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance. 👍

Just by looking at it without actually testing your setup, I don't like your toe settings and the ride hight seems pretty high for a flat track like Indy. I would try a slight negative toe, especially in the rear, and lower it quite a bit, closer to 0 hight perhaps. I've got a car for Indy that I've just began working on the setup, when I have a chance I'll actually test yours to be more specific with recommendations.

Thanks Mudd. Appreciate it. Ps, just been looking at your Trans-Am series. I would live to enter this but being UK, times are all wrong for me :(

Positive toe in the front and negative in the rear will make the car yaw in the turns really helping it rotate through the center however :) it will be very loose all the way around and will eat front tires up in no time. DO NOT RUN POSITIVE TOE FOR YOUR RACE SETUP! At 892 bhp I can run high 43's as long as I can stay in the preferred line and hit my marks.

Mudd and Luke, thank you very much. The Toe advice helped me hit 30 laps no bother and 37 before spinning. Tyre wear evenly now.

GTP helpful as always :)
