Hi everybody!

To give you an impression of reality of the GT5 photo session locations I took some pictures at the Berner Marktgasse.
Hope you enjoy it.

(The guy with the "Mini" T-Shirt, yes, that`s me chatting with the trophy girl  !!!)

Editing: Just copied some real persons into the ingame picture and smoothed edges a little bit.

Editing: I cutted out myself sitting on the fountain/well. Real parts are me and the fountain base including the red flowers. (No edges smoothering...) Upper part of fountain is ingame.

Take real pictures of photo session locations and compare them with ingame photos.

Post them here...

Or try to copy your pictures from real race tracks to ingame pictures.

Anybody want to try these in game? I know not Photo session locations.

this is the Paddock with the Nuerburg castle in the back, from the 24h 2011.

A SLS AMG on the connection between the F circuit (from paddock) and the Nordschleife:

This is a fantastic idea for a photo thread.

I don't have any pictures to compare, but those ones posted are incredibly realistic, and looks pretty much exactly like the real one.

A little off topic because not a Photo Session Location but I took Vince_Fiero`s picture and tried to make an ingame picture from it. Here is the result. (I have not a C5 Corvette from the UCD on my AAA account to take a complete yellow car...) - Picture was taken with 1:1 ratio. No edge cutting.

REAL vs. INGAME

Editing: Saturation+ and Lightning+

I decided to add track photos for comparison as well...

@ Monatsende:

Conclusion:
* GT5 does clouds better then IRL
* The trees have grown since the GT5 modeling
* adverts, tents, mobile barriers are different, but then they are movable, so that is logic

My angle was slightly different, but seems pretty good correspondence to me.

P.S.: Hope to get a bit more time on PS3 in the next days so I can try myself. Was watching a real battle between a Corvette C5-R and C6-R this weekend!

The (height) angle is a little bit different and it`s not possible to go higher with the camera and to get behind the fence to have it in the foreground... But I`m quite happy with the result...

We already have a photo recreation thread, thought this one is about taking pictures of the real world locations yourself.

I tried to get something done, not easy, can not reach the same high position, nor low in real life + the camera was turned.

Burg and paddock:

I believe the medical building is again behind trees that seem higher now. But the antennas and burg are spot on. The rumble strips are very recognisable.

Great job, Vince.

I think we need some botanists to figure out how old PD`s datas are. Growth rate varies on tree species...

Before I continue on the Ring, I remembered my honeymoon.
Sorry it was a rainy day and we feared flooding of our cameras:

a little mistake on the angle but quite a success according to me.

Shame on you! Wrong weather conditions...
But seriously: great comparison. 👍

A shame that GT5 doesn't have 'wet surfaces'...

Yeah, it sounds odd that the road doesn't look wet in rainy weather condition still less it reflects the figure of the car and light.. Hope it will be featured in the next instalment of Gran Turismo. 👍

Another try to compare GT5`s Photo Locations with the real world. Have a look!

Seriously, I have no club as to which one is real and which one is in-game. Amazing job by PD! :-)

its kinda scary of how real accurate these pictures are!!

imagine in GT6 where you could use Google Earth and place your car from GT and take a picture! :embarrassed:
