Just for those who don't know yet, the website for the Initial D Live action movie is out.. http://www.initialdthemovie.com

The site has a trailer and a promo clip. This is a dream come true for hardcore initial fans, from the looks of it, none of the drift scenes seem to be CGed, I suggest everyone to take a look at the trailer.

Oh, no! It's Chinese production with Chinese actors! I don't have anything against them. Infact, Andy Lau, who's in charge of this movie also starred(may have also, produced) in Fulltime Killer. I liked Crouching Tiger, but if you wanna see a Hong Kong flick with an edge, make sure to check out "Fulltime Killer".

It's going to be awkward to see Chinese faces, playing Japanese characters(yes, there are those of us, who can tell difference). If you are an American, it might be like Batman role being played by someone with English accent. If you are British, new James Bond being played by an Texan with an southern accent. It's just wrong. At least, the Chinese cinema are way more capable than the Japanese counterpart.

Trailer looks promising. I think they filmed this in Japan, so at least the scenery will look authentic. I'm gonna hope for miracle.

All the Hong Kong actors in this movie are awful and are only where they are due to their family contacts and ex-girlfiends etc. The exception is Jay Chau (Taiwanese), who is actually a very talented musician (not actor). I don't usually criticise a movie without seeing it first, but I am not going to waste m time or money watching this dross.
