INITIAL D PROJECT-D EASY DRIFTING TUNING fro PS3 pad controller

greensoundroom
Initial D Cars Base:WHITE FC-Rx7 <--(you can also choose any FR/MR with the following setting such as MR2, AE86, Amus Nissan Z....)

Drivetrain: FR or MR (FF car such as Civic is difficult to drift so at this moment, I will skip that)

Keep Horsepower between: 355-400 BHP (Lower horse power keep your car more controllable. Also find your car's sweet spot to be able to beat the higher HP cars. Forexample in Trial Mountain run time between 1:25sec to 1:30sec. The lower power car can beat alot of high rollers. I think this is the fun part.)

Tuning Shop: <--(Fully Tune your Car first then we will turn down the overall HP down later on to 355Hp)

Weight Reduction Stage 3
Chassis Reinforcement
Lightweight Windows
Carbon Fiber Hood
ECU Tuning
Engine Tuning Stage 3 <--(I found Amus Nissan Z runs better with Engine Tuning Stage 1 all other setting stay the same)

Sports Catalytic Converter
Racing Exhaust
High-RPM Turbo Kit
FC Gearbox
FC LSD
Adjustable Center Differential
Semi-Racing Flywheel
Semi-Racing Clutch
FC Suspension

Racing Soft tires <--(this is one of the key of my tuning to make drift car run faster and also able to drift in/out corners by using the E-Breaks. I know there are alot of drift setting using Sport Hard Tires or even Comfort Soft tires but I found they are kind of slow to run and the breaking power is little bit weak. Therefor I came across with this grip racing tire with little tweaks on other areas to make the car run fast, breaks quick and be able to drift. Also you are able to control the car's movement easier.)

SETUP

Body/Chassis
Aerodynamics
Downforce: 0/20 <--(Turn all the way up to the max number depends on your cars setting)

Transmission <--(This is one of most important key setting for a car to be able to drift RIGHT and is to find the right gear ratio. It is the Sweet Spot)

Transmission <--(With these numbers being set on a FC-RX7 the car will drift easily)
1st:-- 3.3
2nd:-- 2.3
3rd:-- 1.7
4th:-- 1.3
5th:-- 1.0
6th:-- 0.9
Final: 4.100
Max Speed:180 <--(This is very important to adjust to the point where you find your car has high enough speed and power to push the car forward. Forexample FC-RX7, the sweet spot for this car to drift is between 3rd gear to 2nd gear)

Drivetrain <--(For FR/MR cars, I always set the differential Rear 15,20,15 and at this moment they work great on all FR/MR cars)
Differential
Initial: 0/15
Accel:-- 0/20
Braking: 0/15

Suspension<--(I tune all my FR/MR cars with the following setting and they runs consistently great so I found this is my starting point to setup all FR/MR cars to be able to drift RIGHT)
Suspension
Ride Height: -25/-25
Spring Rate: 12/9<--(Some FR/MR cars has limitation on 12/9 range setting so you can use this as a reference. The front spring rate is 3 steps higher than the rear spring rate.)

Extension:-- 6/7
Compression: 6/7
Anti-Roll:-- 4/4
Camber:----- 1.5/2.0
Toe:-------- -0.10/-0.20

Brakes<--(Again So far, all FR/MR cars brake balance I set at front 6 and rear 7 and they are working fine with other sitting with out any problem)

Brake Balance Controller
Brake Balance: 6/7

Intended Driving Options<--(I tune all my FR/MR cars with the following setting and they runs consistently great)
Transmission: Manual (MT)
ABS: 1
Steering Sensitivity: +2
Everything else: OFF

Drift Tuner Comments:
I use the PS3 original pad controller to play drift so, these drift settings are good for control pad player. If you found my setting useful to you and need further explanations on other FR/MR cars. I am more than happy to show you. Just leave me a comment. At this moment, Amus Nissan Z, FC-RX7, RX8, MR2 are my most enjoyable drift cars. With the above setting, I am able to turn a BMW M3 to drift easily. My goal is to turn a FR/MR car to drift and most important to be controllable. I think a ideal racing/drift car should be able to run quickly enough to caught up to the grip racing car but also able to drift out any comers.

Give it a try and give me some comments. Thanks

Hmmmm, Initial D is a street racing type of story which means the cars are meant for Street and not track, they run Sports Hard and they don't reduce weight(Carbon is used). Your setup is meant for track use and it's not even for drifting, more tires that get higher means has more grip then the previous tires. Drifting is not the fastest thing around a corner. Your watching too much Initial D dude, watch some Hot Version and you'll learn
