Intercontinental GT500 Championship Season Two - Finished

So we are closing in on the end of the championship and in the rules we do have this:

When the championship reaches round 10 of season two, all competitors who have ballast will be allowed to halve their ballast. When the championship reaches round 11 of season two, all competitors may remove all of their ballast.

It will be moved to round. 11 and round. 12 as we added Spa to the end of this championship, and the point of this being it would be the last two races.

I just wanted to remind everybody of this as this can play out in a tactical matter in the end of this championship.

I'll be there tonight, with the absolute minimal practice that I have from the pre-season, we'll see how it goes

EDIT: Although I do need to download the Spec 2 update, lol. ... Oh crap, didn't realise it was 1.1GB T__T

Hopefully it's done in time.

How long does the qualy's take.

Usually i enter the qually as last. The qually is then already 3 up to 6 minutes underway.

previous race i cold not complete my last fast lap...does we start the race after 30 mintues or 30 minutes from the last who enters qually in time?

we can wait a little?

It's taken half an hour to get through phase one of the update..hopefully phase two is a bit quicker at least.

EDIT: Nevermind, I should be in the room in a few minutes :)

A surprisingly great race today :)

Set a 1:26.696 in qualy, which gave my 5th place and kept doing consistent 27's through 28's for the entire race, and managed to do solidly consistent 30's and one or two 31's on the hard tyres. Was aiming for the top seven from the beginning, so a solid result :)

Also had a great race with Zzxxz towards the second half of the race, and with Anatasis & Maxi on the final two laps :)

Only notable 'mistake' that happened was at the start of the race when I was behind Zzxxz, there was a decent enough gap between us and I broke for turn 5 (the long left-hander) and all of a sudden he's directly on my bumper and I ended up with a damaged wheel & engine damage.

Had I not made a couple of other smaller mistakes on my own then I probably would have been a lot closer to GP. Overall though, a good race imo.

Hopefully I should get in some decent practice for GVS next weekend since I actually enjoyed GVS with my NSX last season so hopefully it'll go even better with my GT-R :)

I am really mad, frustrated and unlucky whit myself.

I had a very good car today, could have very high points but i was so unlucky.

On softs i did race very consistent, i could easly follow the topdrivers. in 4th place i did it great. but then made a spin (lost concetration) so Propersian did take over the 4th place. no harm done, still in a good position.

But the hard tyres killed me, did 5 mistakes or something, and got 10th!
then i had the speed again on soft to easly get 7th place. but at the end my nose got the feeling of a itch and missed my corner. it bring Anastasis, adam, arkano and me together for less then 2 laps. On the straight i was next to adam i think and he moved hes car against mine. i just lost the car. losing 4 places the last 2 laps yippikayee :irked:

Race-pace-wise it was my best race. Very frustrating to end very last for the first time this season... how ironic.

Sorry about that Max, it looked like there was more than enough room but a small tap was all it took.
Ark I can explain what happened with us at the start with a very simple statement:
FALCON GET YOUR ****ING INTERNET FIXED!!

pretty funny adamp & falc..

anyway i had a decent race.. made lots a misakes not getting the apexes that i wanted.. but a very hard track too.. tried to defent last lap at the finish vs netherdragon but man he was comming fast from gp's slipstream i had to push him a litle bit haha.. i actually think i wanted to have a laugh and push you in the wall :D

I hit the cliff on my tyres on the last corner of the last lap when going to attack Immortal, oh the frustration...

on lap 2. after Ark and adam became very sticky whit each other. Propersian and i did a very nice overtake on the small straight. Propersian weaving around adam and arkano and placing hes car on the outside, but i had the left inside line.

in pre season i did overtake GP, Roy and Arkano (i think- on the exact same way on the same place. all in one time.

Started the race on hard, something I decided 30minutes before the race. So started all the way back with Netherdragon and anastasis who also started on hard. Took me some laps to cut the rope to the anastasis as he had just enough slipstream to hang on. But after a few laps the towing ended and I could build up a lead (on those on hard tyres)

After 8 laps we pitted and I went out chasing the other guys. I went out and since Netherdragon was on my tail I had to push a bit to hard so in the end of my second stint my tyres started to go pretty bad. So I couldn't really make a good effort passing C-Falcon and I do think he was on hard tyres. Good hard tyres stint by you Faclon (if it was your hard tyre stint)

We pitted at the same time and after that I just tried to hang on to Falcon as good as I could, but after some laps he was just to quick. I noticed we gained on IMMORTAL in the end, but there was just to few laps to do it in.
I didn't want to make any mistakes in the end, could easy cost me my 3rd place so went a bit safe the last 3-4 laps. But I actually gained on Falcon. But not enough to be able to make a move. Then when I go around the last corner I see falcon on the grass and I could just pass him and make a very lucky second place.

For me a great race with a tactic made up in the last minute, I had something else planned, but during practice I noticed I couldn't stand a chance against someones hot laps around the course so I changed my tactic to consistency and with a bit of luck in the last corner it worked better than I hoped for.

Good race everybody

What were peoples best laps by the way? I managed a 1:26.1xx or a 1:26.3xx on my own, and a 1:25.9xx with Zzxxz's slipstream. I love seeing myself progress during a race by setting new fastest laps in every stint :)

I've always really struggled with the final corner on this track, but I think towards the end I had it nailed down. I still need to buy Spa too.

starting on hard this race with erik was the best chance i had for a good result, not consistent enough on indy to stay with erik, unfortunately.

tough luck falcon on the last corner.

also just an advisory propersian, please don't weave so much while defending to try and break the slipstream of another car, no harm this race as I still got past you but its not the most sportsman like way to defend, put it that way...

really don't want to see that from you next race as you are a good driver.

I know this is still 3-4 weeks away, but can I suggest we change car series for the next season? I can't be the only person getting slightly tired of using the SuperGT cars all the time.

Failing that, I'm gunna have to pick something unorthodox (Lexus/Yellowhat Supra).

maybe using turbo's? and standard GT cars?

If we could make the Lexus cars competitive then I wouldn't mind doing SuperGT again. Although I'm still not convinced that the standard SuperGT cars are balanced at all in regards to the premium SuperGT cars.

This isn't just bad sportsman like, it also in the rule you can move one time and then move back into the racing line. I do this and I also use some tactic when passing people. I do go as far away from the one in front as possible to make him make a longer move to get into my slipstream. But going more from side to side than the one move rule is actually not allowed.

wow text changed :P
Well I know how to make the lexus competitive..
