Welcome to the Raceday Series Info Thread. All this summer I have been tuning up various cars to try to get them to run equally for a series that I was planning to run. I originally had planned to run it during the summer, finishing it up right before school started back, but unfortunately I lost online access around June 20th or so, so I got kind of lazy and didn't work as hard because I didn't know how long it would be before I could get online permanently again. I actually finished tuning all the cars over a month ago, but had to start all over because I tested the cars improperly. I know that it is not possible for all the cars to be completely equal at every track, but it should balance out enough. Enough of the talk, lets get down to business.
First off, this series will feature over 100 cars to choose from, and all have been pre-modded and tested by me. There will be 10 "Racedays" in the series, with a race every 3 days. There will also be at least one special event each Raceday that you can compete in. The cars have been divided into 6 classes, and there will be extra cars that you can use only for special events.
Rules
-Each race will be run in the Arcade Mode under Normal Difficulty, which equates to a 3 lap race. For some special events, the race will be run under Hard Difficulty instead, which equates to a 5 lap race. In 3 lap races, you will need to provide sector times for each lap, each lap's time, and the total time for the race. In 5 lap races, you will only need to provide each lap time, along with the total time for the race. This is to insure the legitimacy of each racer's time. Although I don't personally know the limits of each car at every track, you can better believe I will look into any times that are well ahead of the rest of the pack. Undecided at this time, I may include a panel of judges who I know can really tear the track up who I may refer to if a time looks odd. If I or the panel of judges find a time that is illegitimate or we or the majority of us think is unattainable, then you will recieve no points for that Raceday and will be deducted 100 points from your series total.
-You will be allowed to discuss times, strategy, and techniques in the threads, but you don't have to. Don't feel pressured to spill the beans about a real cooker of a time that you may have pulled off.
-You cannot participate in one class throughout the whole series. You may participate in the same class 2 times out of the 10 Racedays. Also, if you do choose to participate in the same class a 2nd time, you cannot choose the same car that you chose the first time you participated in that class.
-Oil changes are not to be performed except where noted. You must set-up the car exactly as shown.
Points
Each event will reward 200 points to the winner. For each successive finishing place, 10 points will be deducted (i.e. 190 for 2nd, 180 for third, etc...). In some special events, bonus points will be awarded.
Extra
-I will try to post results in the form of race commentary for each event. To make the results more in-depth, you may specify the color car you are using (the actual color name, not just "white" or "blue"). There are some exclusive colors on cars that can only be won in Simulation mode. Some I were able to attain, most I wasn't. If anyone has these cars, in stock form, that they can personally tune up to get as close to the numbers of the dealership versions that I have modded, it would be appreciated if you do so. Only change power mods: do not change other modifications such as suspension kits, tires, weight reductions, etc.... Perform oil changes if necessary.
-At the end of the series, I will try to give statistics for each racer, such as wins, number of special events participated in, preferred car color, and other statistics that I may think of later.
-Horsepower/torque figures may be slightly off, due to the slight increase of horsepower/torque during the break-in periods of cars. These slight increases should not be big enough to affect performance though.
-Please notify me if you see any errors, have any ideas, or have any questions.
