INTEREST CHECK: WRS PhotoMode Competition

Just thought I'd get your thoughts on the idea of a WRS PhotoMode Competition. You may or may not be aware of the Photomode comps that GTP already has (found here) but ours would be a little bit different. You would be creating Results photos much like these ones from the past few weeks:

So rather than me doing the results photo each week I would post a thread each week where WRS members (maybe GTP members at large even?) can post their photos. At the end of the week when I post results the winner of the previous week's Photo comp could pick the winner of the current week?

The details of the comp can be sorted out if there's a general consensus on the idea. I'm just looking for ways to make the WRS more communal, at the moment these are the ideas I had for the comp:

• Submitted pictures would be 400 x 300
• Each person can only submit one entry
• Submitted pictures need to contain the phrase "WRS Week ## Results" somewhere in the pic
• Submitted pictures must be of an eligible lap in the current weeks combo
• I would continue creating the picture for the Race thread (since otherwise I'd have to reveal the combo early)
• I would pick the winner of the first week, but the winners would then select the new winner each week and have to PM me their choice for winner sometime before I post the results.

So waddayareckon??? If people like the idea I will implement it starting Week 82 👍

I love the idea, it's definately a new idea, and it would give me something else to do when I'm not racing.
Actually I have a kind of cycle of racing and taking pictures.
How much photoshop is allowed?

I see no reason to make any sort of restriction on what's done to the photos. It's only for fun...not like we're playing for stations or anything?!?

Yeah this is a great idea Colby, love it
It gives you ( me and anyone else) something else to do while we take a break from driving.
Some weeks i get a fast lap early and can't beat it, so i have nothing to do til tuesday

The idea does sound like fun, and I have not used photo mode in a long time so it would get me back into it.

It's been a long time since I've participated in a WRS race, but I really enjoy the idea and might find myself participating again if this were to be implemented. Unlike some of you die-hards, I've grown tired of hotlapping week in and week out for a while. Kudos to those of you who're still alive and kickin', and congrats on your 'promotion' Colby.

Anyhow, I think it would give people a nice alternative, especially those of you who are on time-limited schedules and maybe just wanted to test out the current combo and snap off a few.

another great idea from colby. looks like our wrs is - again - in good hands.
i voted yes & ocassionally because i am unsure how often i would submit pictures, but like michael i like the idea of pic'ing a bit in between races.

looking forward to many 81 pictures because this car is such a looker.

I think Shaun makes a good point...many folk these days are done with the hotlapping...which was bound to happen since GT4 has been around for quite some time now. So really I think WRS needs to evolve with people's interests too. I've noticed the PhotoMode threads at GTP are quite popular so hopefully this will keep the WRS community thriving. I think race submission numbers are bound to be lower than when GT4 first came out but hopefully the community itself can remain as strong as ever 👍
