Can anyone help while I wait for Virgin Media to get back to me? My connection is constantly dropping off for no reason. The laptop I'm using is wired, but it also happens on wireless devices as the 'internet access' light on the router goes out.

Here's the logs from this morning:

Hm... Firstly, I would try to access the router via the internet browser, to see if there's a redirect rule set up, as it looks like it could be your problem. Sadly, I'm no expert here, but it's probably worth looking for. Do not delete any rules without professional help/advice/guidance.

You could also try doing a factory reset after you've talked to Virgin Media, if they say it can fix it.

I've just checked my router logs out of interest and this morning for 2 minutes an IP address registered in Iran was attempting DOS attacks. Since then my router has been doing the same as yesterday pretty much constantly.

Would these be related?

Probably. I'd wait for your ISP to get back to you. As they should be seeing the same thing as you in terms of a DOS attack. Or they can monitor the line to watch.

Yes... that could very well be the reason. I think it would be a good idea for you to run a virus (malware I believe) scan, too.

I've already done a virus and malware scan, my system is completely clean. I'll keep an eye on it to see if the same IP comes up again at any point.
