Zenith Racing League: S15 Championship

Do you want a more realistic and engaging racing experience?

Are you ready to push the limits of your racing skills?

The newly formed Zenith Racing League is excited to announce the debut of a 6 race endurance series.

What is ZRL?

We are a Gran Turismo Racing League looking for people just like you to create a community of beginner friendly and competitive racers here on GT Planet!

What's Different about this series?

Tires, time, fuel, and damage: This is an endurance race that lasts 60 minutes. The weather and sun are factors in every race, and as such, tire wear and fuel usage are increased by 2x. Due to the increased tire wear, there is one required tire change, which makes selecting tires and managing wear based on the evolving conditions exciting and engaging. BoP restrictions are lifted for suspension, downforce, and brake balance, so your experience as a tuner—and ultimately your knowledge of circuits—will make a difference. In-game penalties are disabled and are instead stewarded after the race via review and challenges from drivers. There is no ghosting; maximum damage is enabled, which brings a sense of danger to not finishing the race. Full flag rules are enforced and reviewed via replay during the challenge period. Circuits are selected for their ease of driving and ability to accommodate low-light endurance racing conditions.

The Car

This Spec Race series features the Nissan S15 spec-R Aero Touring Car.

Why this car?

There are many great cars available in GT7, however not many have the low rpm turbo speed and spec restrictions of this Gr.4(GT4) car. Optimized for low to mid speed tracks, this beginner friendly vehicle offers controllability and a high skill ceiling requiring momentum and knowledge of the track to truly unlock its potential.

Race Structure: 15-minute Open Qualifier / 1 Hour Endurance Race (Saturdays at 1:00 PM CST)

Practice / Testing (Attendance Optional): 1 Hour Open Testing (Wednesdays at 6:30 PM CST)

BoP: Suspension / Downforce / Brake Balance

Tire Restrictions: Racing Only

Tire Change: 1 Required

Conditions: Variable Weather / 2x Tire Wear / 2x Fuel Consumption / Heavy Damage / No Ghosting / Stewarded Penalties w/ Full Flag Rules enforced during race as well as during post-race steward review.

Scoring:

For ZRL's first series, the scoring system used is inspired by standard FIA/IMSA race series to reward consistency, skill, and strategy throughout the Championship. Points are awarded to the top 9 finishers of each race, with additional points for achieving the fastest lap, and other bonus opportunities to enhance the competitive experience. All racers who do not finish in the top 9 but are able to finish in the allotted time will receive 1 point.

Here’s how the scoring works:

Points:
  • 4 Race Bonus (Attend and complete 4 Races): 6 Points
  • Fastest Lap: 2 points
  • Best Livery: 1 point (voted on by participants each week after the race)
  • Flag Violations: -3 Points Per Infraction
  • Major Race Infraction: -3 Points Per Infraction
  • Minor Race Infraction: -1 Points Per Infraction
  • DNF: 0 Points for Race
Post-Race Steward Review: After each race, a review will take place to ensure that all penalties were awarded correctly. The steward will review race footage, incidents, and penalty decisions to maintain fairness and integrity in the competition.

Challenge Period: To further ensure fairness, there is a 72-hour challenge period, following the submission of race results each week, during which racers can submit evidence or concerns about something they believe was missed or incorrectly handled during the race or by the steward review. These submissions will be carefully reviewed, and any necessary adjustments to penalties or points will be made.

This scoring system, combined with the opportunity for post-race reviews and bonus points for creativity, ensures that the Zenith Racing League not only rewards the fastest and most consistent drivers but also encourages sportsmanship and attention to detail.
