Hey everyone, just wanted to share my sim racing setup.
I started getting into sim racing about 3 yrs ago, started off with a g27 and a playseat. Although I thought the g27 was great, once I saw all the different setups online I knew I had to upgrade. I ended up buying a used CSW set with V2 pedals.
The stock brake cyl developed a leak after a while. So instead of calling fanatec and purchasing a new one, I decided to start modifiying and make it to my liking. I inverted the pedals and fit it with a real master and slave cyl. With the increased brake force being added I decided to ditch the playseat (minus the seat......for now) and build a sturdier rig out of 8020. I also grew tired of the squeaks the gas pedal developed (especially at night while the wife is asleep), I tried oiling and greasing but nothing helped, so I replaced it with a BMW e46 gas pedal (also used). Luckily the pedal position sensor was able to be wired up directly to the fanatec PCB and calibrated perfectly. I think I have spent more time building this than actually racing, but it was so much fun and the pedals feel amazing.
