Let's just say I'm tired of playing :censored:ty FPS games. Especially online ones.

Probably by the title, you've guessed what this is about: the screen on my iPod cracked.

Any you're right. But not just a mere small crack, more like someone threw a couple large rocks at a window and nearly shattered it. Yes, it's that bad.

Story: got pissed yesterday at BF3, went to throw my controller on my bed in frustration, iPod was right where it landed, and now I'm :censored:ed.

Can hardly see a thing since the center right part of the screen looks as if a cave man beat the 🤬 out of it. Also pretty bad around the Home Button (though it oddly seems to work better now ). And yes, I'm mad. Extremely mad.

New screen costs $170 at theigods.com (from our local paper) due to the screen and LCD screen being one part (Apple for ya). Any place cheaper, but also trustworthy?

Oh. I see. Thanks for the link. But, I don't get that either. Why would you want to touch the screen? It gets all marked up that way.

**** happens. I remember I got pissed at PES and threw my controller at one of my bed pillows. It bounced off and landed on the floor where the shoulder button broke off. Oops.

BF3 is nothing really to get mad at.

My brother threw my PS3 controller at the fireplace when I beat him at Cod4. Wasn't a good day for him.

Sounds like you need a chill pill when playing games, if BF gets you that worked up perhaps it isn't good for you.

And you must have whaled that controller to break an iPod. My iPod and iPhone have been through hell and back without incident. I even slammed a car hood on my iPhone at a junkyard (forgot it was there) and all it did was scratch up the camera lens. My iPod has spend it's entire life either in the center console of my car with a plethora of other crap, thrown in a bag, or worse thrown in my archaeology satchel with tools and dirt. The backside is scratch up beyond repair but it's still up and kicking with no issues after 4 years.

As with how to fix it, just go on eBay and buy the parts you need and then search for a tutorial online, there are thousand's of them out there. iProducts are easier to work on then people make them out to be.

...and no I'm not a troll before you say anything

I once hammered my DS3 at a nearby stool after I got killed by the same camper on MW2.

Predictably, I quit FPS after that.

I don't understand them. Those games couldn't be more luck based if it had a casino. Why spend hours running around using offense as a defense for no real life gain at all. When the new one comes out the current game gets junked/traded and forgotten, never to be played again by anyone.
Move on to better things ghsnu

Yet you say that in a video game forum

Ipoods are stupid! My reasoning? You buy it for about $200. Then get it home. You have to have Itunes, it can only play music from Itunes. And the minute you plug it into someone else's Itunes. It erases EVERYTHING!! Why not buy a normal MP3 player. It doesn't have a ridiculous name, and doesn't delete all the music you waiting 500 years for. (it takes so long to put them on the iPod) I had an iPod once. I only got it because I won it. And I simply gave it away when I got something better, just because it's so ridiculous!

But, the best answer for your how to not get cracked screens? It's simple. Buy one without a screen. :P

BF3 A video game is nothing really to get mad at.

FTFY

My housemate broke his limited edition X360 controller he'd bought not 2 days ago playing Fifa 12, if a video game is anything other then entertaining (surely the whole point of games is fun) for someone then the simple answer is turn the game off. There's fun in a challenge and frustration to go with it of course, but there's a line to many people seem unable to realise they've crossed.

My question is how do so many gamers (seemingly) allow themselves to play a game to the point they break something?

It could be worse one of my friends knows someone who has bipolar disorder. he had to quit games for about 3 months due to him throwing his controller at his large LCD TV. I don't think i have to explain what happened. But i don't really see why people get so angry when i get mad i just turn it off as proof my PS3 is 3 years old and the original controller that came with it still works.

It's the trend for all MP3 players and phones. I've had people who tried touching my ipod classic's screen thinking it's a touch screen! Yet it is 5 years old and it has the clickwheel for control. Despite of all of the dents that it has gotten it has been functioning quite well.

As for repairing the ipod you could buy the parts yourself and do it but it's a hard frustrating job since you are working with broken glass and small parts. You also have to make sure you get the proper part for your ipod's generation since Apple has added features and thus has changed a part's design. A replacement LCD with the digitizer would cost about $30 on ebay or amazon and some of them come with the tools to pull the parts apart. You also need to get the 3M adhesive(recommend getting it from ifixit.com since you will get the correct part and they are quality parts) that is used to hold the glass to the ipod. You will not be able to reuse the old adhesive since you will need to pull it off. I would recommend finding in depth guides online before you attempt it.

So you're the guy who bought a Zune! ;)

Seriously though, it doesn't delete all of your music at all and the transfer time is no slower or quicker than any other USB connection.

Hint guys: Get a Sansa Clip. Expandable storage (up to 32GB, with an SD card), built like a tank and a better DAC/amp section (much better sound quality over any iPod). It'd also be a third of the cost of the 32GB iPod touch.

Unless it's that important for everyone to know how hip and cool you are by buying a logo

LOL, the reason why I bought my first iPod Touch is becuase of it's sleek design. I bought it around 2008 I think and at that time, in my country, it is not yet popular/hip/cool and there were no iPhones or iPods sell yet. I didn't know the Brand APPLE until that iPod touch and when I was in UK :)

At that time, having Nokia especially the high end N-series was considered you're rich/cool/etc2 :D

I broke my DS3 in half while racing the Alfa in the Grand Tour. After 300 times hitting 17.001 or something, something snapped. And then my DS3 snapped.

But that never happened before, or after.

Sorry if this offends people, but you really need to calm down if games make you chuck pads across the room.
