Is it just me or does it seem like there aren't near as many people playing online anymore? I always go into the chat room to see if people are playing but there are hardly ever people in it.

Yeh everyone seems to have gone, i remember in the old chat room with CWR, hamilton and cerealkiller it was always full with at least 10 people in it.

But it does get boring with only a few tracks but after a few months break i cant wait to race my GTR around suzuka again. :)

There definitely isn't as many people online as there usually would be. During the night time though, I have been able to get into races with 9-12 people, but they tend to be a bit messy.

By the time we have GT5 the online races will be full, and it will like that until GT6 is released! That's my guess anyway.

Well I am going to start playing some online races again tomorrow. I haven't been playing much at all lately.

A few of things come to mind on this :

1. online events , nobody liking them (this idea has it's shining moments when they update)
2. lack of tracks , people getting bored with what is being offered
3. variety of cars , people are tired of having to use the same car to be competetive
4. unskilled driver's (beginners) / punters , getting tired of being rammed , disconnected because of sore losers out there
5. private rooms , (idea 4) , just wanting to race with friends
6. other gaming , people are just playing other games , lack of interest (previous 4 examples). I am a prime example , I spend more time playing F1CE , because of being involved in a weekly league (practice, practice, practice)

Now here is a good thought to take with you: :)

Once the full game comes out , you will find private rooms and I am 100 % sure there are going to be a variety of weekly race events you can get involved with which will be to your liking,or make up your own event with the PP of your chioce, track of your choice, limit the type of cars allowed, day or night, damage on or off, changing weather conditions, just endless options involved here.(I already have 6 events thought of to be set up once we get this),jotting these down on paper. ( new thread idea ? dream race events ? )
I will give one of these out as a preview: 💡
A) Nurburgring , 700pp , Vettes and Vipers only (non tuned versions) day and night cycle , weather involved , 25 laps with pits on.I am getting excited just thinking of this one

Quote from the movie - " Field of Dreams " - "if you build it,they will come".
The same can be said of GT5 when it hits the market, they will come back.

If there will not be the option to create own races with chosen track, chosen rules, chosen number of opponents / cpu's, then the online mode will never satisfy the players enough to stay there for months and years.

Exactly so as soon as all the punters leave to play other games we will start to have better races, i think after christmas people will get other games and stop playing GT so there will be alot less punters hopefully.

I am a GT5P noob but the online races are friggin hard, i was racing in the beginners section with my F430 and someone slammed me so hard i was donig around 180 my speed went to 210 and i slammed the wall. I had a black flag and ended up comin in 6th out of 12 but i was pissed because i was #1 when they hit me.

For me..For 08 GT5P remains my #1 racing game that I play most hours... but I think it's getting bit bored without Private rooms, so I tend to play other NON racing games.... Just right now I will be off to get GTA4 for PC... So it will be another huge time before I get online to play GT5P.

What do we all expect.. It's a Prologue, a supercharged DEMO. I am still surprised PD supports and GT FANS still play the game with MINIMAL content. When full games comes out.. that would be my #1 plaing game for 09 or 2010!! even more then I spend surfing online on my PC LOL!

Its been deserted for a while now. I remember right after GT5P came out it was incredible. Even before CWR's chatroom we had tonnes of posts in the race thread, but the quality of events, as well as the quality of competition quickly deteriorated. I went back to playing rFactor daily and haven't touched GT5P in months. I'll be back when GT5 is finally out.

It is a shame it has got so quiet, but there are many reasons for this, from the fact that the events are not updated enough, to the lack of tracks and that people simply play other games aswell. I am the sort of person who always likes a race and even I am a bit tired of things, but it won't stop me racing. The one good thing that came out of this is there are a little less punters these days. This all shouldn't happen when GT5 finally arrives, it should be worth the wait. I guess we have to take what we have now and live with it, or play something else.

Edit:- Even here on Gtplanet it seems quiet, I think I am the only one posting.

It doesn't surprise me that people aren't playing GT5P so much anymore - the content has been done to death. I can't imagine there is any other game out there that has as dedicated a fan base, BUT even with GT5P there comes a point where everyone starts to get bored.

For them I created this thread:

No, FC isn't GT5: in some ways it is far inferior to GT5P, but in other ways it is superior & the online racing is very challenging & fun. Try it!

I quit racing online months ago, because of the punters/kiddie mentality. It was no longer racing, it was trying to survive and stay on-track for the whole race, not related to how fast or well you could drive...:banghead: ... 👎
Lately I've been taking part in the Weekly Race Series ( WRS )...and it has picked up my interest in GT5P. A new, different kind of challenge.

Also playing Ferarri Challenge, and for giggles, Midnight Club-Los Angeles ( arcade but fun and good for a laugh ).

I came back from a month break and started playing again. I really like current online events. Its fun to drive Audi TT in begginer HSR and try to win (almost impossible :D) The Cali Eiger event is fun and 550 Fuji and especialy 650 Daytona is great with Z06
