Is it possible to adjust rpm range?

When you're adjusting your transmission, there is the horizontal blue line near the top of the gear ratio box that indicates what rpm your transmission will need to shift at. I understand that by adjusting each gear you can make it take longer or shorter to reach that rpm before you need to shift. What I'm wondering is if there any way to extend or shorten that rpm limit. For example; let's say you have a transmission with an rpm shift limit of 9500 rpm's but you want that limit brought down to 8500 or vice-versa. (8500 but brought up to 9500) Is there any way to adjust the gearing to force the car to have the need to shift in a different rpm range?

Some power enhancements like the chip or exhausts increase redline. But there is no technical way to reduce it. You can shift manually at any wanted rpm though.

Yeah, many cars work better if you like, hold onto 5th say, or you can kick out early into third. Thus the reason why you will get better performance learning manual then running auto.

^^ Which are good reasons to get a wheel. I wasnt able to learn to shift a manuel with a controller. Too much going through my arthretic hands. With a wheel its much easier to shift manuel.

I currently do run manual on a g27 with H-shifter and clutch. I was just wondering if there was any way to force the rpm adjustment. While you could shift before the redline it makes no sense to do so unless you're no longer inside your optimal rpm range of acceleration. From what @Z1-AV69 is saying though I can't force the rpm down, which is really what I was hoping to do. It's good to know for future reference that you can raise the rpm limit with certain upgrades. I know you can adjust the optimal shift point, I was just hoping to limit the rpm as a standard regulation setting for a league. (It's sort of difficult make a regulation telling people when to shift.)

Well, you could, but it would be costly and a lot of work.

You would litterally have to buy all possible cars under your other restrictions, and visually check the transmission and possibles.
you could do it cheaper by saving to a card, buying, checking, rebooting the card save, but that is tricky.

Luckily for me it's one-make. I've gotten pretty good at backing up saves if I ever needed to do that though. :)

It's just too bad that I can't bring the rpm range down. (I make a habit of de-tuning cars.)
