Is it really safe?

Hey.

Is it really safe to enter race a without dropping in Dr and SR rating? I'm so scared to enter with my high rated profile. It's many bugs with gt, it would not surprise me if I lost Dr/SR on race a. I have a low Dr/Sr profile as well that I could drive with. Should I do that instead? Experiences?

Thanks

Yes, it's safe - but man I couldn't imagine living with that much paranoia about a video game rating lol.

It's a game mate, why put so much stake in your rating? It's there to balance your matchmaking - nothing else.
Unless you're fighting to go to GTWS and need to be in top split at all times, its meaningless. Just race and have fun.

I see you. Well, the story is in gts i practiced a lot for fia races, and i got to a+. After I had reached my goal, so to say, I wanted to just race for fun and not care about results. I than made another account and i raced this account. I havent raced a race after I got my a+ rating with that profile, because im proud of what I have achived and i like to stay on a+ so other people can see it when i do lobbies ;) You might say I live for confirmations from others.
Yes, people often need confirmations in various aspects of their lives. Confirmations can provide a sense of assurance, validation, and security.

For example, in personal relationships, people may seek confirmation from their partners to know that they are loved, valued, and appreciated. In business transactions, people often seek confirmation of orders, payments, and deliveries to ensure that their transactions are complete and successful.

In addition, confirmations can also help to reduce uncertainty, anxiety, and doubt. For instance, when a person is about to make a significant decision, they may seek confirmation from experts or trusted sources to verify their beliefs and assumptions before taking action.

Overall, confirmations can play a crucial role in various aspects of human life, helping individuals to feel confident and secure in their decisions and actions.

That is pretty sad to read. I never understood why people need confirmation, especially this faked ones. Do you live for or do stuff for somebody else or for yourself? I know it's pretty much off-topic, but you say you once reached a specific rank and then never raced again only to flex with it even though you dont actually know if your rank is still up to date? It is somehow like those guys renting a Ferrari for one day and then bragging about it and showing off hoping the people will think they are rich. Would you also pay a prostitute to say 'I love you' to feel better? Your balance stays the same, even if you paint your credit card golden ;-)

I'm somewhere between DR B and A, switching back and forth all the time. If a race like Monza comes up I could easily reach A+ in that one week. But it doesn't represent my overall capability in racing. Then I will be paired against A+ drivers and I will finish the races dead last no matter how good I race as soon as we enter any other track.

I dont want to offend you, but this is how it sounds to me. Being proud of having achieved something (and staying on that level) is something totally different from what you do. Most people (and I mean almost everyone) doesn't give a sh* about which rankings other people have. No need to show off. If you want to impress: Drive fast and clean.

You really should not follow the instagram/facebook lifestyle but focus on yourself. Go racing, have fun, or try to have fun at least. If you're really an A+ driver, you dont have to worry about your ranking. Stay true ;-)

Ifully support your quote, as long as this "confirmation" is justified and not based on a lie ;-)

I can see and understand your perspective. Maybe it is a bit sad, who knows. I still belive I would do well in a+ FIA lobbies, if I practiced before the race start. But now days I prioritize different, I have other things to than to practice FIA races. I still like to play GT, and when I do I like to just jump on a race and maybe play it maximum three times, than Im done. I do this with another profile cause its another gaming "profile", literally. I can still use my a+ profile if I wanted to practice for a race and go all inn, and I use my other profile just for the fun. I asked this question cause it takes time to switch profiles and restart game. You may argue it takes time to write this post as well, but I was also curios if somebody experienced loss in dr/sr in race a. And hey, PD made the decision that ratings from gts would transfer to gt7, why? If they didnt do that I maybe would have had the motivations to start playing seriously again. You may argue that motivations should come from clean racing and racing in general. I can only speak for my self, and in gts I sure played for the experience of clean racing, but at a point I set this goal to becoming a a+ driver, and after that my gaming profile changed. Thanks for talking to you :)

You’re of course free to do as you like, but consider that A+ goes from 50,000 to 100,000, it’s the "most wide" (can’t think of a better word right now, sorry) DR rating and while anyone at A+ is usually quite a competent driver the difference between someone at 52,000 and 90,000+ is still quite massive. The 50k guys (if around there is the plateau) will never be able to beat the 90k guys, let alone even play in the same lobby (aside from the occasional daily).

And as Nebu touched upon, unless you’re competing at absolute top split with the 90,000+ crowd in GTWS it doesn’t really matter.

As far as daily A goes with DR/SR off, there’s nothing buggy about that, I’ve done several hundred of those and the rating doesn’t move at all.

How did you get a good rated profile in the first place ? Keep doing the same thing and don't stress about it, if you've been able to reach this level, you'll easily go back even if you take some damage here and there.

As others have said, DR is a system used to match you with other players of theoretically similar ability level. It's not a score, it doesn't represent completion rate nor does it show an absolute ranking within the playerbase. It's a tool, one that if used correctly, should present a manner by which you may experience (again, in theory) an optimal online game.

It's not perfect of course, and the way you are 'clinging' to your outdated rating is one of the ways the system can be tricked/broken.

Personally I think you'll have much more fun if you let your DR fluctuate naturally. It won't always be fair, but the idea is that it's meant to give you the best online experience.

Let's ask Thomas "Babe" Levy that question.

For those of you who don't get the reference, google "Is it safe Marathon Man"

I apologize for the late response.
It's actually true. Im very curios. What made you think that I had used ChatGPT? What gave me away?
It is giving a much to broad response to not look hollow, if that makes any sense.

hmm, interesting...yes, that makes sense.

He's joking with you because it reads like waffle
Hmm. I think chat gpt gives very good answears. I use it a lot when I need to translate and its good to use in school work. For an example, you can ask about different pedagogy theories and it will give you a simple answear. This will spare you for a lot of time to understand simple strategies.

So if the reason you want to maintain your A+ is to impress others in lobbies what does it do for your ego if you get beat by a B driver ??? It seems trying to impress people with certain "skills" can sometimes not work out so well.

Say if in a daily race lobby I'm the only A+ driver and I win, do I still get an increase in DR?

Also say if I get beat by an A rated driver and come 2nd, do I get an increase or decrease? Hard to tell since Kudos doesn't work with GT7. Can't remember how it worked with GTS.
I looked into all this in detail a lot back in GT Sport. Yes, you will get an increase, even if all others are DR D, of course the gain will be microscopic (as it should be). Should you however come second or worse in a lobby like that you’ll lose quite a lot. It all depends on how high ranked you are and how low ranked the others are.

Yes, I did. How did you know? :)
Not the same guy but I had a suspicion it was because of the structure of the response. Chat GPT really can't help but want to write its responses in a way that likes to provide a general summary at the end, and guess just the flow of the text. Lots of words to try and convince someone but little actual content. I use it daily though as a Stackoverflow replacement for engineering work so I'm very used to seeing how it structures responses.

But to answer your question Daily Race A yeah should have no affect on DR/SR, so I guess if you really want to preserve that rating you could do that, but really it would be more fun to not worry about it dropping, and if it does, work to improve it.

I find chatgpt very helpful in explaining educational theories and also in seeking advice for personal challenges. While chatgpt may not always have the perfect solution, I appreciate its constructive approach to answering my questions.

I'm currently encountering some difficulties with GT. After switching from using a wheel to a DS4 controller, I've noticed that my pace has slowed down by about one second. I'm not particularly motivated to spend a lot of time training for FIA races, but I would like to be able to compete at an A+ level if I decide to participate in a race. For now, I'm using different accounts to explore different aspects of the game.

Do you think this is written by chat gpt?

Everyone is different, and that’s ok
Thanks alot man :D

Good question. I mostly laugh. But sometimes when I meet other people that I used to beat I wish for a wheel again. I can also say right away Im playing with a controller and thats my exuse for mye pace. Im getting my wheel again in a month or so.

No, not really. It gives a response that's too broad to not seem hollow? Do you mean that it provides a response that's too general and therefore appears hollow?

I've saved off this information by Famine as this question seems to come up a lot.

DR is solely determined by your race finishing positions: a straightforward exchange of points between you, the people you beat, and people who beat you, scaled according to the relative difference in points between you.

For every car you finish in front of you gain:
80 - ((Player DR - Rival DR))/500)DR

For every car you finish behind, you lose:
80 + ((Player DR - Rival DR))/500)DR

As you can see, unless the difference is in excess of 39,500pt, you'll lose at least one point.

In a race where everyone has identical DR, this is the change in points after the race:
1: +1200
2: +1040
3: +880
4: +720
5: +560
6: +400
7: +240
8: +80
9: -80
10: -240
11: -400
12: -560
13: -720
14: -880
15: -1040
16: -1200

Honestly not too sure if that response was written with GPT, if you used it, it's not as obvious but might have.

And ah that makes sense to want to preserve your rating for better race in ones you want to participate in, guess I didn't really think of that too much. I'm new to sport mode so haven't gotten my DR up much but I'm sure it's better at that rating.
