Hey folks.., I apologize if this has already been discussed. It's just something that I noticed today. I've been spending more time with a few other racing titles.., and threw S2U back into the Xbox today.
I gotta say honestly that at this point (after the most current patching), I'm starting to question as to whether the problem is really "Steering Input Lag". I was doing some tuning and test driving with various cars on a few tracks. I was also using the different camera views as well.
What I'm noticing is not really a lag in the steering.., but an "Environmental Visual Lag" that really stands out in cockpit view. It seems to be the other way around in that it's not the steering in relation to the environment, but rather the environment in relation to the steering (if that makes any sense).
When using hood cam, bumper, cam and chase cam, I noticed that the issue of lag really isn't that noticeable.., and that I was flying around the tracks with ease using those cam views. However.., when using the cockpit cam I made it a point to focus on the nose of the car (when visible through the windshield). In cockpit cam it really seems to be an issue with the environment being out of sync with the steering input of the vehicle.
I primarily use the cockpit cam in all of my racing titles (for those that include it). I'm a good driver.., and with nearly 30 years of racing gaming under my belt.., I feel I'm quite adequate with all the racing cams too. I can set good lap times with any camera view. However.., with S2U I'm finding that the cockpit camera is the issue. Anyone else?
