Is Nfs Shift worth getting to use with a dfgt wheel?

I'm asking this because the only racing game I have to use with my dfgt wheel is gt5p.

Shift is relatively good with my G25 wheel and I would expect similar with the DFGT wheel, once the cars are properly tuned and the wheel settings are correct for you. It's not great right from the start, and you have to commit to adjusting things for a while until it feels right.

My understanding, based on other people's descriptions of Supercar Challenge and my own experience with Ferrari Challnge, is that Force Feedback generally doesn't get any better than it does in these two games. Again I base that on the Logitech G25 wheel, but the I haven't heard of any problems with the DFGT.

That is the wheel that I use and it is a fantastic wheel. All the Logitech wheels are great with Shift, but as Manny said, you have to adjust the wheel settings for a while until it feels right for you. When wheel is adjusted and with a good tune for your cars (Renown Tuning ™ is where you get your tunes from) you will get great feedback through the wheel from Shift.
I have found Shift's FFB is a lot better than GT5P and the new GT5 Demo. :tup:for the DFGT Wheel.👍

In my opinion, NO. SHIfT wasn't worth getting to use with my G27 wheel. In fact, from my personal experience SHIfT wasn't worth getting at all!!! Now I'm trying to sell it used!.

It's like a hybrid of RealFeel for RFactor - everything dynamically calculated from the steering arms reacting to the track, no canned effects, and GTL/GTR2 - weight transfer is transmitted, favors telling you about oversteer rather than understeer, both front and rear wheels transmit force. On the PC you can change this to be the best of both worlds (other than missing some understeer feedback) but it's still pretty good on consoles.

While the engine driving it is really nice, being dynamic, and reacting to the track and car setup, means that the worse the car is dialled in, the worse the feedback through the wheel.

I play it with the DFGT wheel and it's fabulous <3

I also think setting the car up just right is somewhat overrated in this forum, I have no problem with driving the default tuning although i prefer to change it :)

Hi, 1st post.

I tried Shift with my DFGT, & liked it a lot, but found one major problem.

It's a lot easier to recover from being hit using the joypad, & you do get hit quite a bit in Shift.

It's quite possible I didn't have it set up right as I hadn't had the wheel long. I also don't have a proper stand for it yet (Wheel Stand Pro on order) so it wasn't what I'd call stable or in the right driving position.

I'll give it another go once I've got my WSP all hooked up & after I've browsed these forums for setup advice on both the DFGT & the cars themselves (same goes for GT5P).

ive got my dfgt wheel setup and love it for shift, more so than gt5

Hi, Rownder, and welcome to GTPlanet 👍

Please help us keep these forums at the best quality possible by using capital letters and punctuation. It's a little thing but it really makes a difference. Thanks.

Yea I'v got to say it works well for me. I bought the Driving forve EX when I got Shift and found it worked well, but felt very twitchy. So I invesed the extra £30 and got the DFgt and its a dream!

Yes, it's better if you tried it with a wheel. If you drive NFS:Shift as a simulator, it would act like one; If you drive it like an arcade game, it would be a bit more for giving past the cars limits just like an an arcade game.

You might want dirt 2, it's great with a wheel.

It does not make any sense to me to be driving a "driving simulator" ( some say it's not, but if it simulates ... :) ) without a steering wheel.
