Is Sport online right now?

Wouldn't normally start a thread over this but these are not normal circumstances in my gaming history. All the other times the sport servers have been offline I have been able to reconnect with no problem as soon as they come back. So I have just played arcade and saved later, leaving the PS4 in rest mode overnight. Today though I wake up this morning and I cant reconnect. I have about 2 hours and I count 6 pro arcade wins at stake here plus cash and a level or so from last night.
I've read people have reconnected fine after restarting game OR rebooting PS4. It is an important distinction as rebooting/restarting anything means without any doubt that nothing is worth doing in this game EVEN arcade IF none of the results can be saved.
If I have to restart now and lose all my data just to reconnect I will no longer leave the game running all the time (will be the first game on my PS4 that receives this honor) and shut it down after every play.
Was last night a rebuild or maintenance? Does it HAVE to have a restart or did anyone manage to reconnect without leaving the game?

OK I can give a definitive answer from my end for this instance. I was FORCED to restart the game to reconnect, therefore losing 2 hours of wins in arcade etc. This is an important distinction as it means arcade is not useable (if not savable) either so if servers are not working I will just play Pcars 1 instead.

Was last night a rebuild or maintenance? Does it HAVE to have a restart or did anyone manage to reconnect without leaving the game?

Last night before the maintenance I went into arcade time trial with my trusty rubber band to leave it grinding points for me.
Stopped it this morning, and coming out of the event it tried to save and failed to reconnect.
After that I'm not sure exactly what I did - it was before coffee, after all I tried 'reconnect' from the main menu on the left, but I don't think that worked. Went into options and out again, that might have woken it up. Then I did a quick challenge, and that certainly saved.

Of the two or three server problems I've encountered, I haven't been forced to restart the console or game.
