Is the AI smarter in some courses or is it just me sucking at those courses?

In some races the AI does get sharper it will vary even when using the same cars. As for the GT all stars keep in mind the cars there are rather powerful but the AI in all cases drives poorly - they can take some corners right but on the straights they never take full advantage on the acceleration wich is very lame. I´d prefer some slower cornering and full throttle at least it would be more realistic.
Also some corners are well performed (1st trial mountain corner) while other ones are done in a learn-to-drive style (1st wannabe corners of grindelwald)
The AI follows a kind of pattern to race wich can be confused - just try (if you have one) to watch the nissan drag cars in autopilot in a track other than the test track

The vipers are the absolute stupidest things in the game that the AI drives. They'd take a hairpin at around 90-100mph(guessing) and spinout on the grass. On courses with walls and cement instead of grass like seatle or ssr5, the viper just slams into the wall and starts accelerating again. Also, why is it that the AI civics handle so good and can out accelerate my stang from 0 to 40mph? Is this game pro rice boy or what?

Well, the game is made in Japan.
The AI has trouble driving anything that isn't FF or 4WD, with a few MR and FR exceptions.
The AI also has magical launch control abilities. See what happens when you enter a stock Mazda AZ-1 in the AZ-1 Race, for example. It's the one area where the AI is better than us humans; it also doesn't bounce it's car's engines on the rev-limiter at the end of a straight...

lol, i bet the 'path' that the good AI cars follow is a replay path done by the profesionals who developed gt2.
anyways, not only did a civic out accel my SVT COBRA from o-40 but also a god dang trueno!
I feel ripped off. It'll only b a while b4 i find out a Honda LIFE would beat my stang on the ssrt straight.........

I think.. Just maybe.. that you're right. Take the MR Challenge in the pro races.. In the 1st and the last you can easily kick the GT40's arse, but in the middle race (Laguna Seca).. Not a chance (I'm talking similar cars here .... )
