Is the Banshee the fastest car?

No, the banshee is not the fastest. The fastest car would be the Cheetah, but the banshee beats it in acceleration and handling.

If you want to drive the fastest you can in game, get the Cheetah, if you want to be able to drive fast and handle well, get the banshee.

sorry, but the cheetah is not as fast as an infernus in a staight line (try doing street races against the infernus if you dont believe me). banshee has fastest acceleration though

banshee has best acceleration, but infernus is the fastest car, then the cheetah, then banshee, yakuza stinger, stinger,sentinel etc etc.
the best handling is the stinger easy!

For going fast... the Banshee is probably the overall best car becuase it combines handling with speed, plus it is fun to drive

I love the Banshee! I love the raw power, and the acceleration. The engine sounds great too.

As for the stats, I got these from a file on the PC GTA3 disc:

Top Speed: (all in km/h)

Infernus: 240
Cheetah: 230
FBI Car: 190
Police Car: 190
Banshee: 200
Rhino: 80

Engine Acceleration, not sure what the numbers represent:

Infernus: 25.0
Cheetah: 30.0
FBI Car: 24.0
Police Car: 28.0
Banshee: 33.0!!!
Rhino: 8.0

Infernus- 149.07 MPH

Cheetah- 142.86 MPH

FBI Car- 118.01 MPH

with the editor i posted in another thread, you can adjust those. my securicar has engine accelerator of 40.0 and a top speed of 240.0 (km/h)

Personally I like to swerve between the traffic at breakneck speeds in the Stinger, Cheetah, or Infernus( depending on what's available at the mall )

the borgnine taxi looks exactly like a cabbie, but in a maroon colour. it also has a lot better engine performance. you get it once you deliver 100 passengers. hope that helps

Infernus goes for me. It does have the highest top speed and I like street racing it anywhere. Hasta la vista Banshee.
