Is the Fiat Panda actually capable of winning any race?

Wow. Not been here since c.2006!

Anyways, I really would love to know if there is any race the Fiat Panda Super i.e is capable of winning? Simply because I've always loved racing the more unusual cars in GT and nothing would give me agreater sense of satisfaction than spanking machinery with a tinny Italian junkbox.

Have tried maxing it out in the past (I think the max power it produces is 130-150hp:indiff:) but all it does is result in turbo lag. So any tips [I dont count "dont bother, its a POS, buy a Skyline GTR/(insert 900bhp noob-wagon here)" as a tip, thanks :P]

Surely it can win the Sunday Cup? Cars with as little as 44 BHP can win there, so I would think the Panda can as well.

You could probably get some good Aspec scores at Capri Easy. I got 192 there, I think with a Copen that had less than 70hp and used ballast, but can't be sure of that.

Also, the 'wet' race in the same hall is laughably easy, you may be able to beat that if you tune it up.

Yes, here's a list of races I've won in the Panda

Sunday Cup (duh)

FF Challenge

Compact Car Cup (pro-level)

Euro Hot Hatch League

various Easy-level Special Condition races....

...probably a couple more I'm forgetting. Anyways, that's quite a list right there. There's only a handful of cars (like the Citroen 2CV) that can't be turned into a pure GT4 winner in a decent list of races.

Good tips Parnelli Bone 👍

@ Elstro, glad you've come back to see us after almost 3 years, just a quick heads-up though, your signature exceeds the 6 line limit for :gtplanet: so please could you make an adjustment to that?

Have since purchasd a Panda on the back of Parnelli Bone's advice and managed to get it to win the Sunday Cup (obviously), FF and the Pro-level Compact cup, though the latter took a touch of fettling and re-tries before winning fair and square (I refused to purchase NOS and wings).

If anyone's got a setup to win the Euro hot hatch league, could they PM me the settings, would love to mop that one up with the Panda!

And in reply to Parnelli Bone, it's so true, I've found even the VW Bug can win a few races here and there, thought would love to know if anyone's attempted any of the big guns with it!

I just used a basic semi-racing suspension + brake kit (no controller) and S2 tires. Lower the front anywhere from 10 mm to 15mm than the rear, and use anywhere from 1.0 to 2.0 of front camber (depends on track), put stronger dampers in the rear but weaker ones up front....that should do the trick. Springs can vary.

I don't remember if I raced against the Clio Sport V6es or not in the Panda; probably not. I may have done a mostly-FWD race since the Panda can't get much above 150 horsepower (you can reset the grid till faster cars don't show up).

Not to mention the Mercedes CL 600 I drove in the Supercar Challenge this weekend. No weight reductions! You'd think (since it has up to 650 available horses) that it would dominate the entire series. Not so...it handles so bad...

dangit..gone off topic.
