Hey,

I've been thinking about getting the g25 and a christmas present or something- but is it worth the money??

And by the way, in a car, if you lose control and spin of the track the steering wheel will spin like hell- does the G25 + Gt5p do this to add to realism? is this what force feedback is??

Cheers

1- YES!
2- Never spun so I wouldnt know. Haven't noticed if it does though. Force Feedback is the wheel moving as it would in real life to tell you what the car is doing.

1 It depends on how much money 250$ is to you. For me it is worth the money because I had the money to spend on it, but for someone younger or lazier who doesn't work it may not be. It makes the game much more enjoyable, and also is a very nice wheel.

2 Yes the wheel will spin when you lose control if you take our hands off of it. If you have the money, go out and buy it, you will not be disappointed.

it is worth it , the best wheel IMO!
The only bad part id say is the shifter but just dont be rough with it and you will be fine.

I was going to ask the same thing s15specr. But, Instead of buying it on X-mas I've rather buy it the day after thanksgiving, (If I find one in low price).

thanks for all the posts.

I pretty sure i'll get one this year even though 199.99GBP's is a lot of money to me. I might as have a cockpit / pod for it so i will just make one out of wood.

And i have one more question!!

on gt5p i can't drive the nissan gt-r or ford gt for s**t- using the sixaxis. when i fully get used to a G25 wheel- will i be able to drive these cars better than on the sixaxis??

By shifter do you mean the clicking sound?

For me the G25 is well worth the money, I have it combined with the gameracer "Corbeau" Pro racing seat and it is fantastic.

The Force Feedback is when for example you start to loose front wheel traction on corners, you feel the wheel slip / go light which tells you that you are on the very edge of adhesion and would best not push it anymore. This feedback gives an edge over the sixaxes as you only know from the loss of controll with the standard controller that you are approaching and passed the edge of available grip.

For me, the Manual Gated shifter is the only real downside, it is far too loose to move between the gears, It needs tightening up in my opinion. there is no feedback or feel when moving between the gears, and it needs to give you some feel of being central so you know forward is 3rd, rather than slipping into 1st or 5th in error. so for manual gears, I always use the wheel paddels which is better as it does not require clutch either, which for me is too much to handle at the moment whilst remaining comeptitive.

If your serious about your racing, you need a wheel, if you are in a position to do so, get the G25, and if you can go the extra 500 GBP, get a proper racing seat to mount it, then all you need is a 50+ " HD Bravia and you are all set.

GT has cost me well over 3,000 GBP so far (PS3, Wheel, Seat, TV, Surround all purchased exclusively for GT), but im well happy with it.

I get what you mean :) . the feedback tells you if the cars light in the back wheels etc. I will just make a desent qulitey pod my self because theres no way i can afford a propa one.

the short answer to your question is NO. thats not to say its a bad wheel. i have one and it is the best of them all:tup:but i have also had the driving force ex..which cost 70euros.i would suggest you get one of the cheaper wheels out there like the force ex.:idea:you will see an improvement in your times and car control whith in a few hours.. the only reason i got the g25 was because i was doing the gt academy. and i thought only the best will do:ill:..as for my set up:dunce:i paid 20euro for a real car seat from the breakers yard.a few bits of wood and for a total of 40euro i have a setup that keeps me very happy.. good luck in what ever you decide to do:):)but keep it real.pay what you can..👍

Yes. It's so much better than the old Driving Force Pro, if you ever used one of those. I bought my G25 for £135ish off eBay (new), and I've built what could laughably be described as a cockpit for £0.00. (Seat from a car I scrapped, an old chair frame retrieved from a skip, and some wood a friend of mine was getting rid of. I haven't posted it yet, but maybe one day I'll get round to it.) Although I'm not exactly a cockpit connoisseur, it's the best wheel I've used.

As for GT5P, I've never played that with a wheel (I don't even own a PS3, as it happens) but if you spin in GT4 the wheel will spin if you let go. Having taken the F2007 around Daytona Super Speedway in GT5P, I can't see how it could possibly be harder with a wheel. :)

Yes It is worth it. As well it might be better to drive these cars with wheel since you going to feel every little thing car is doing/handling as well distribute perfect amount of brake and power on turns.

Be aware of a lot of practice and getting use to it. If it is you're first wheel ever, you will find it very hard to practice on, but after a while you can improve lap times by a lot then controller. By the way it will take a long time but it's going to be worth it. GT5P will fell 50% better with wheel then sixaxis.

Yes, the G25 is worth it's price. It is made with more durable materials over the DFP. If you're on a budget, you can go with the DFGT. From what people have described, it pretty much has the guts of the G25.

If using a clutch is not important to you; if LARGE paddles are not important to you, and if money matters, then get a DFGT. See if you can find a G25 in a store. Try it out, if you like it and can find it cheaper on the net, take it back and buy it on the web. Or, buy a DFGT and try that out.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. What it comes down to is what matters most to you?

Me, I could care less about the clutch. But, I wanted a leather wheel, BIG PADDLES, and an overall more "heavy duty" feel. If we get a revamped G25 when GT5 comes out, I'll probably buy that and pass my G25 along to my son.

i've thought about it and 200 GBP is just too much money... Am going to get the DFGT insted as i've heard it has good force feed back. Plus, it also has the real-time ajustment dial.

If you shop around, you can get it for a lot less than £200. I got mine for around £150 including delivery. There are plenty of places that sell it around this price. Dabs have it in stock now for £146.12

If it's too much money, that's a shame. Maybe try to find a used, or better yet a refurbished one. I have 6 wheels, momo, the red wheeled one, what ever that was called, the blue one for ps2, dfp, g25 and I bought the new dfgt, it was on sale for 99$ cdn, and it's just a redesigned dfp. In my opinion they all feel like toy's compared to the g25, especially the pedals. As far as the adjustment dial goes, you just have to program a few of the buttons on the g25 and you have the same thing. As of now, you just can't beat the g25.

Like already said above, look around, I got my G25 for £156 delivered from Amazon, best £150 ive spent in a long while.

I bought a G25 for £139 from dell.co.uk a few weeks ago.

I have owned 4 wheels from June this year, first one was an EX, then a DFP, then a DFGT and now a G25.

If I could get a DFP for cheap I would get that wheel again. I like the way the wheel locks at 180 Degrees and is very handy for games like F1CE, and IMO I would say for F1CE the DFP is the best wheel 👍

Having said this the G25 and GT5P is fantastic. Just a bit gutted that when I had the other 3 wheels I never played GT5P with them so can't compare how good they were against the G25. The G25 with GT5P has a very addictive feel and this combination is really something that should be experienced.

The DFGT felt very similar to the G25 whilst playing F1CE, in fact if I can remember rightly they felt identical :)

From what I've heard anyone who has a G25 is very happy with their purchase and everyone feels it's money well spent. If I only had a PS3 I would be tempted too.

BUT.

I have a 360 and a PS3 so up untill recently I've been happy with my DFP for PS3 and have put up with a DFX for the 360.

IMO the better racing titles and online support at the moment and in the near future are on 360 yet the better wheels have been for PS3 so if racing is your thang and you think that you may be considering purchasing an XBox anytime soon to play some good racing games with decent online support, you may do well to look at the new Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo Wheel S.

It's pricey but it's also going to be compatible with PS3, 360, and PC it's looks ergonomically easier to use than a G25 with the buttons on the wheel recognising whether they are connected to XBox or PS3 and displaying the right buttons styles for the console you're playing at the time.

The Force Feedback and self centering looks to be as good if a bit better than the G25 and the wheel itself is larger, it looks nicer and more comfortable to hold with a hand stitched leather cover over a nice thick wheel.

Like I said before it is a little more expensive than a G25 but as it's 2 wheels in one I think it's money well spent and as it's not being released until March you've got 3 more months to save up for it.

I've already started a thread on it HERE so I'll leave you to decide for yourself before I get accused of spamming or advertising which I'm not, I'm just excited about my main problems with racing games on consoles being solved by the invention of this wheel.

I've ordered mine and am now counting the days until it's release in March.

Jonboy, when you pre-ordered it did you have to pay for it? It looks like a great product, but only time will tell if it functions well with all systems & is reliable.

Yeah as far as I'm aware the money came straight out of Mrs Jonboy's credit card but I can't say for sure.................it's her credit card and she ordered it for me while I was cookin dinner LOL

Hmmm.... 💡

I'll have to try that! :)

However, it does seem like a lot of money to put out 5 months in advance sight-unseen. :nervous:

Yeah I know what you mean but it's not totally unseen, the PS3/PC version of the same wheel is already out there, I've seen quite a few reviews of it on Youtube and if this PWTS is as good as that wheel then we're laughing
