This is something I've observed with other competitive online games. The longer they are out, the more "sweaty" their player base becomes. For example, I used to play A LOT of Company of Heroes multiplayer. It was one of my favorite games of all time. But by the time I stopped playing, the player base had become so concentrated to hardcore COH players that I was regularly called a "noob" (many times by people I beat LOL) despite being ranked among the top 5-10% of players. And when the player base reaches that point, it becomes all but impossible for newer or casual players to have fun in online competition, which further biases the player base towards the most hardcore players. GT Sport obviously hasn't reached that point yet, but I have a suspicion that the trend is somewhat underway. Mostly, I base this on what seems like less people racing in online competition. I could be wrong though. Interested to hear people's thoughts.
