Is there a bug in your finishing position?

Hi all, long time lurker first time poster.

Wanted ask the more experienced players if they have noticed this before.
Just completed the Gr4 daily race on Nurburing GP 21/01/2018 on my Aussie account and on the final lap was in 8th. Car in front was about 2 secs ahead of me and car behind about 5 secs.
I didn't cross the line before time ran out but when presented with the race results my position changed from 8th to 10th. I didn't have any time penalties as the race finished.

Looking back through the replay i was indeed 8th as time ran out and also noted that my position would fluctuate despite not being overtaken or overtaking another car.

I have the replay and happy to share but when trying to upload in game i get an error message about connecting to the server. Not on YouTube or have social media accounts (yes I'm that person not on Facebook, Twitter etc).

Not seen it drop. Sometimes find I have a higher position than expected as people stop before the line if they're not winning in an attempt to tank their DR and get an easier race next time.

Usually people pull to the side of the track, but one guy slowed coming over the grid in the Brands Hatch daily yesterday. I spotted him doing it and managed to rear-end him at full pace before he ghosted, firing him over the finish line like a rocket! #sorrynotsorry

Hahahaa haha had the exact same experience. Brands hatch and the guy in front did exactly the same thing and I sent him flying past the finish line.

It’s a bug to do with pit stops I think, often when you cross the finish line (or someone nearby does) your position will rapidly change once or twice indicating someone ahead of you is being classed as a lap down despite being ahead. It sorts itself out at the finish but it is annoying something as simple as this is still present in the game right now. I’ve had plenty of races running quite well only to find in actually 2 or 3 places lower than I thought.
