Hi guys, Hoping you can help me here..... Love the game but just don't get the point of the B'Spec? I mean, what a waste of time sitting there watching a virtual race and telling your driver to drive faster...... it's just sooo boring, isn't it?

You are right that there isn't much point to the standard B-Spec, other than a few good prize cars.

However, the remote racing part of B-spec is a very easy way to get additional credits.

There are several points. The way I look at it is that its a good opportunity to tune your car and have a lvl 40 bob drive it like he stole it. So now you have a good standard to see if your tuning is helping or hurting the cars performance. The ai bob tends to make less mistakes then us as the driver would. Well ne anyways. There's also the cash and cars....

Make money from it. Easy money.

Rome on the b spec seasonal events, 7 mins, 340,000cr. (with Lotus 111r RM'd with a little ballast).

35 Minutes to cycle the UCD fully and the added bonus of 1.7 million cr in the bank.

I make that about 58 runs to make 20 million, or about 7 hours grinding. With very very little effort!

The only thing I don't like about B Spec as that it is compulsory to get 100% with the Platinum trophy. Ideally, IMO, it should be used as a 'helper' like in GT4 so you can still finish the race with out having to leave you PS3 on for days, instead just pull in to the pits and select it to B Spec so the PS3 does all of the driving for you, but now this is more defunct with the new 'resume play' option. Though I thought you bought this game to race, not watch/set someone up to race.

As far as the Bspec IMO its just easy money and cars. Pointless portion of the game. What I do is race Bspec when I don't have time to race Aspec (like running to wal-mart or taking a shower). When I get back to my PS3 the race is over and I collect my cash (possibly my new car)and go on.

Question:

My driver can win the race all by himself. Is there any advantage to yelling commands to the driver?

Well, with my Bob's it helps a lot to yell at them. They get like 10sec faster laptimes when they're more on the red side compared to fully on blue.

I had one of my Bobs running a McLaren F1 on the B-Spec seasonal event (650PP) and found out that if I wasn't telling him to speed up, slow down, and where to maintain pace, he'd either push too hard and slide around into walls or just not be able to catch up to the first place car. I seriously had to sit there for all 10 laps and give him orders to win. It was actually quite fun!

The same my idiots. Yesterday I equipped three of 'em (lvl 36, 35 and 34, all with blue arrow) with 1040 BHP Minolta, set 'em for Le Mans, watched for a little time as my first bob was quite fast and went to work. When I returned 14 hours later, I just couldn't stop wonderring as my idiots were as cool as ice, but at 6th place 3 laps behind the first one! When I told 'em to pace up, they were making 12-15 s a lap faster times. Can you imagine a real racing driver, who would be very cool and simply letting all the other drivers past him? Well, nevermind, today my bobs are driving Le Mans with an X2010. As they were running in the morning 1 minute a lap faster than the 2nd driver, I think they might actually win this one...

Got to agree with you. I tried 2 of them but I buy racing games to drive not to spectate.
But it seems there are some cars you can only get through B-Spec, and that seems unfair to me.
Can't help thinking I would like to have seen more effort put into the main game, like better selection of races and more customisable AI.
I'm also wondering if that means I will only complete 50% of the game!!

I wish there was a tutorial for b-spc. Im confused about a few things.
Like why my driver was unavailable for several weeks!
And I know they get leveled up, but what prizes do I get? Cars? Cash?
And whats up with the different colored arrows next to my drivers helmet?
And finally, there are "dots" at the bottom of each drivers profile. What do those represent?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

( These are the fun part of a game. You find things out your self instead of reading the manual thats in game. )
And I know they get leveled up, but what prizes do I get? Cars? Cash? (yep why spoil the suprises)
And whats up with the different colored arrows next to my drivers helmet? (yep again In the Manual )

( Covered Here in this forum all ready in the Bspec remote FAQs https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=183744)

Very good point here.

I just got my PS3 and GT5 this past xmas, love A-spec but never saw the point in the B-spec, until now. You get to check out the car's performance from a spectator's perspective. Also gives you time to hit the can or get a top-up on your drink.
