Is there a sturdy, adjustable wheel stand that won't have a bar between my legs?

I've been scouring the 'net for weeks looking for such a stand. I've come across the WSP, the APIGA AP2, the Wal-Mart off-brands, just about everything I could find. It seems that the product I need doesn't exist. This seems impossible to me, so I decided to look here.

Money isn't a huge object, but I'd like to keep it under $250. I've considered getting an actual cockpit but my apartment is too nice and there's no room for it. My wife would kill me. I need to be able to fold it up and put it away (or at least be able to store it in a closet if it can't fold). Also, I play a LOT more games than just GT so a cockpit isn't really an option because I'm not going to buy a new TV just for one game.

Basically, I want a wheel stand that is usable from the couch and will fit my G27 nicely. I don't want the shifter next to the wheel. I don't want a bar between my legs. I don't want the thing to shake whenever the force feedback kicks in. I've seen a lot of pics online of custom set-ups that accomplish all of this, but I can't seem to find a retail product available to order. I know nothing about construction/modding/etc so building my own set-up isn't possible.

Oh yeah, I'm also 6'4 and can't have my knees at a 90 degree angle for long periods of time or they cause me severe pain. I'd like to be able to adjust the pedal distance accordingly.

Is there anything out there for a guy like me?

I bought an Xlerator wheel stand for my DFGT and I really like it so far (been using it for about two weeks - finally cleared S-10 on GT5:P with it). A bar still runs from the front platform where the wheel is mounted onto the base where the pedals are placed, but I found more than enough room for my legs to move underneath i.e. it's shaped in a way that it doesn't get in the way.

I was able to use one foot and switch between the brakes and the acceleration pedal, and this is how I started using it the first couple of times, but ultimately chose to use both feet as I wasn't able to switch back and forth quickly enough with one foot.

It took me about 3-4 days to get used to the setup. At first, I didn't feel it was 100% stable, maybe about 90%, which still wasn't bad, but not perfect. Those first few days I was being really really hard on the wheel, my hands were really tensed up and I was putting excessive force wildly turning the wheel from lock to lock. In those extreme circumstances, it's sometimes possible to 'rock' the stand slightly off its base.

Now that I'm used to the setup (and the wheel itself), it's no longer a problem, and I would say it's 99.9% stable.

There's a version available for the G27 - I believe a slightly large one also exists if you happen to be a little bigger/taller and need more clearance.

Here's what I use It's an adjustable tool stand from SEARS:

What I like about it it that I inverted the pedals, when I'm done I can unplug the USB and 110 volt and move it. If you look on my "profile page" you can find more pictures; some when I first bought it and used it as is.
The reason I bought this is if I ever finish my "Built by opelgt1969" stand I can still use this one as a you guessed it (A Tool Stand).

I've made some mods to it. This stand is no longer sold but I did find this one which is almost the same except the top is made to use as a vise:
