Is there something weird with the online racing?

So I'm loving PCars 2 and having some great races online but one thing that's bugging me is how the grip levels can change so dramatically or there's a speed differential between identical cars.

One race we ran had stock setups on the Watson Roadster around Daytona. Most of us topped off at the same speed (hitting the rev limiter so it was gear limited), but the guy who won was able to reach a higher top speed. Surely this should be impossible in a stock setup race?

Also I'm finding that I can be crazy slow in some races compared to the leaders (like 4-5 seconds off) on small, well practiced tracks like Laguna Seca. I get that they are faster but losing that much per lap?!

I really wish the monitor was better when observing too since the telemetry seems all wrong and is no help in trying to learn from the fastest.

many questions, few answers, many doubts, few solutions. Train more and speak less, respond the wisest. Some people get the ALIENIGENA SETUP and turn into NINJAS runners, the rest of us fill in the GRID.

I get what you are saying... league test the other night we all felt the change in a qually session... It seemed related to the amount of cars on track however this was just one session that i noticed it in so it could be a fluke? At the start of the session there was 5 people, and i was hitting consistent 1:43's, and others were hitting consistent 1:44's, as well as some other lap times. However, when the session got up to 6-12 drivers, the cars felt loose and slippery out of no where and i was down to consistent 1:45's, and everyone else felt the same thing, their lap-times dropped 1-2 seconds... Track was Daytona Road Course, weather stayed consistent, no change in temperature, multiple cars effected, multiple drivers effected. To top it off, near the end of the session people dropped out and we went back to 6 drivers, and i was back able to consistently lap in the 1:43's and other people stated how they were also able to lap faster once again... So this is what made it seem as though it changed depending on he amount of people... However, this is the only instance ive heard of this happening, and it hasn't happened before or again...

Anyone have an explanation?

More traffic causing slower times doesn't seem surprising. Maybe more slip stream caused more speed at points but sliding resulted in lower lap times? Or maybe it's a lag issue?
