Well i got into dragging with my '66 Shelby Cobra, and i learned that with the gearing i have it launches quicker when i have it in 2nd, rev it to the limiter then let her rip. Is there a better way to go about launching or would this be the way to go with a cobra?

do with transmission trick (max final, lowest top speed, max 6th, lower 1st, change final to the right speed) and you can launch in 1st which is better

Yes, tranny trick is a must on most of the cars i guess, i have had really good use for it. And as everybody knows, you dont have to set final to max when you do the trick.

Is that was true, we would all be running 180-186 gearboxes on Veyrons. :P

I never said all AWD cars just some lol, the veyron has a stupid amount of torque which helps. What do you expect out of a quad turbo beast! lol:sly:

I don't use the same tranny trick as you guys but the one I use works for me most times which is lowest top speed and use the final drive to get the right speed make first longer in rwd cars or make it shorter in awd then I pretty much shorten the rest of the gears for a smoother change. This normally works for me as I really only drag at the 1/4 mile

Thats the same everybody is using, top speed all way down, final to what ever makes you happy....
