After running a career with lower power cars, i wanted to try something different.

I set up a custom race at Fuji GP and assigned myself the Lamborghini Veneno. I figured, even though it's a high-powered car, it should be easy to drive because it had only one bar for both control difficulty and cornering speed.

If you are a veteran of this game you probably are laughing at me right now knowing what I'm about to say next.

I could not control the car to save my life! Even on the long straight away I could not keep the car straight. The speed overwhelmed me and the steering was really difficult to reign in.

When I have played Gran Turismo Sport and used the high power cars, long straights were not a problem I can hold my wheel with one hand and sip my coffee with the other.

Which way is more realistic? I do feel like it should be very difficult to handle a high powered car and those beasts should be for the most skilled of drivers, but, shouldn't I be able to go down a straight away without difficulty?

Were you running without aids? Something this light with this much power should be able to light up the tires even on a straight in a fairly high gear..! Can you hold it steady using TC and SC? And had you warmed up the tires first?

It was a custom race but I did not have any practicing or qualifying so, no, my tires were not warmed up.

In the game settings I have all the AIDS turned off but when I selected the car it showed that it had those things. I'm not sure if they are active if I have them turned off in the game options.

Does "light up the tires" mean to warm them up?

I started that race in fourth place (I put myself there. I didn't earn it) because I figured I would get passed by a lot of people hey that was hoping to just finish in the top 10 but I quickly fell to 20th.

Even when there were no cars to push me or bump me I could not handle it. It's clear that the steering is way different from the low-power ginetta junior that I've been using in my career.

I actually like the fact that it is difficult to drive because I guess you have to earn the right to drive such a high powered car. And, I'm okay with that.

I was really surprised that it was just one bar for both cornering and handling and I still couldn't handle it.

lol Yep. Tried this car myself a few days ago as I was looking for a fast stable league car. Modern hypercars are designed to be used with complex electronics. To me this means full assists on. But what makes my BS detectors tingle is when you turn assists off, yet you see "mortals" like Clarkson and Hammond mess around with these types of cars with no "assists" on a track without too much trouble. They even have a bit of fun that no PC2 player could even dream of.

My BS detectors are sent into hyperdrive when I try something like a Group 5 car with 600hp+ no assists whatsoever, a massive peaky laggy turbo and have no trouble at all running it to the ragged edge setting lap times no one in a full public lobby can beat by a clear 2 or more seconds. These cars should be far harder to drive than a modern hypercar.

As in my autosig, my default position is that this is wrong.
