I've seen a few people talking about this and since it seems to be selling in places for around £10, I figured I might as well give it a shot. Should I?

For a tenner you wont go wrong. It's a good and fun game. Different style to GT5 so not comparable to me.

Definetly yes! There are some flaws here and there - slowdowns..bouncing (both may be fixed by now i sold my copy long time ago) but you can´t go wrong with it. Also, there should be a demo on PSN. And those sounds..(Impreza  )

Possibly the most FUN racing game for the consoles. Driving physics a bit arcade-y, but nowhere near as bad as older NFS titles. GT5 is a more accurate, but BORING game.

For ten quid, it's a steal.

We have it on offer where I work and I'm hugely tempted to pick it up again, despite not liking it the first time around.

Could someone post some settings to improve the default handling on the 360 or has that been patched?

Thanks for the descriptions, it's also in 2 for £30 sales in HMV, so I'll go in next week and pick it up. Not expecting anything outstanding but hopefully I'll get some fun out of it.

If you want handling accuracy, get GT5. If you want FUN, get Shift!

Plus, you can probably get some money back by trading it towards Shift 2 when that comes out. No brainer, IMO.

If you want to make Shift's handling seem better, pretend it's raining and you have hard Comfort tires on (cheap ones!). Handling's pretty good if you pretend that!

It's OK. I haven't played it once since GT5 came out. It's kind of like a way prettier, high-def ALMS rFactor or GTR2 mod on speed with wobbly, strange physics. I do love the choice of tracks as compared to GT5 though. Brands Hatch, Donington, Spa and Silverstone are 4 main reasons to own the game. I would trade every single GT5 "original tracks" and dirt/snow tracks for those 4.
