Hello ALL, I'm trying to isolate my new Obutto Ozone sim rig. I've been looking for day's and Googling it and I cannot find anything for that. :banghead: I'm building a Base frame to raise it up about 5.5" so I can get in and out of it easier (I've got a little handicap).:mischievous: I want to isolate it from the new WOOD base that is on caster's, that I'm building so I can (maybe use) Buttkicker's or some puck's of some kind and Sim Vibe. I think it would help to keep all the VIB's in the rig itself and not go through the base too. If I can, I'd REALLY like your opinions on this also. And, if you know of any Mount or isolators that would HELP ME and Please comment on this 💡 I've been Googling all kinds of stuff like conduit mounts, electric motor mounts, etc. for anything that would work in this case. My frame is 1.25" Dia. and I would like the frame to slip into the top of the isolator and then screw into the base. I've checked with ButtKicer, SimVibe, and other companies like that and nothing yet. I do know that somebody does make these item's, I've seen pictures of them on a couple rig's in the DIY build's. I'd want probably 8 of them in all.:nervous: I would really like to finish this thing up so I can use it for the 1st. time I can't wait to get in it.

Thank you all, for any thing in this area that help's me.

Hey fatkrakr, I appreciate your reply Thanks alot.
I have checked ebay and a looooong list of other places but I cannot for the life of me find the right part I'm looking for. I need it to fit around the Obutto frame rail a slip in sort of a deal and to fasten to base with some screws, I guess I should have said that plainer in my thread Sorry for not...
Thanks again

I was recently in the same situation as you. I purchased an Obutto Ozone and I knew I'd want to isolate it from the floor to isolate the vibration from transducers.

I ran all kinds of ideas through my head and I eventually settled on anti-fatigue mats. My Ozone won't be raised on a platform, but in your situation you could cut and fit some mats and fix them to your platform. Using a few conduit straps you could then mount the Ozone onto the platform. Screwing directly through the mats wouldn't be a problem, or you could cut out openings at the mounting locations.

Besides isolating vibrations, anti-fatigue mats are good insulators (good for insulating from hard surfaces during colder months), comfortable to put your feet on, and you can get different colors and designs to fit your aesthetic needs. Plus they're cheap.

I went with Walmart's (Canada) Connect-a-Mat brand. All of the brands I've seen sell mats 2'x2' in size and in packages of 4-6. Here's a guy on Amazon who's selling a great looking diamond pattern which would go well with the Obutto.

Buttkicker has some large rubber isolators.

I've got a setup like you're making, a rig on top of a platform, (and a buttkicker) I tried putting these rubber feet in between my platform and rig, and i noticed no appreciable difference, it didn't seem to make it vibrate better or reduce noise (its quiet anyway). My buttkicker setup is just one mini concert transducer so its very mild compared to some multi tranducer setups.

By the way 6 of these rubber feet were included with my buttkicker ( the simulation kit), so you might check to see if the kit you want will have them too.

Hey, grog, I thank you Man, for your answer on this it's really been a problem for me trying to figure out what to do on this part of my build. And, I thank you for the link for "buttKicker" rubber insulator's. I had missed them I guess, when I checked their web page out awhile back. Also, I don't see your buttkicker listed in their link above ("the simulation kit) so, maybe it is called something else?. Could you send me a reply with the part number or something so I can look them up I just might try and go with that setup on mine.

Thank's Again, grog for your comment's. I do appreciate these. because I don't know beans about this stuff.

I use these mats as carpet in my rig.....They are comfortable on the feet and great in the gym, but for isolation not so.
I've my Buttkickers mounted to the underside of an MDF base rig

And then the mats on top.
I am thinking of buying the Revolution and building a base for the tactile which I'll fit these http://www.shakercentre.co.uk/aspbi...tProductsID=15&content=rubber_isolator_rdb375
to the bottom and then place the rig on top of the enclosed base.
I've about ten tactile units and have been learning about tactile for over a year now. Two main things to consider are good amplification and good isolation :)

Hi mate,

I had some mounts custom made for my chair. I have two sine live kickers attached to my chair which rattled my room and those rooms underneath when I played sims or fps'ers

Vibrations since installing them have dramatically reduced (not eliminated).

You can read what I bought here:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/xbox-360-hardware/1488564-buttkicker-gamer-2-a.html

Essentially if you don't need custom mounts adding then those rubber isolators Grog posted should do the job.

Yeah Germinator, I was looking for some custom type mounts like had found in a couple pictures I had found in some forums somewhere:confused: I've been looking again and try to find them and no luck at all. So, kinda looking at all other things that would be the best for my build. I can't go with more any height or I have to completely rebuild what I have already got done to it, I have a certain height I need to have it, and a (+-) is not much. Thank you for your info too. stone775

Sorry for the late reply, I had a hard time finding the "simulation kit" as well, its in comsumer products, which brings up a menu, you have to hit the arrow button on the right to scroll right. It is a bit hard to find.

Here's the link, by the way its great as a starter setup but the amp is quite weak, so if you want something over the top you might check out the more "beefy" setups.

hey thanks grog, I appreciate your help on this, and thank's for the link and all....I'm still trying to figure out what to do on this. I have got your's and 1 other idea I like and trying to make up my Ol' mind which/or what to do.:) Thank's so much my friend for everything.

Try the Penn Elcom 9106 rubber feet from Parts Express. They are reckoned to be as good as Buttkicker and Clarke Synthesis isolators and they are only about $1.60 each.

HI Sick Cylinder, I will look these up on their web site. Thanks for the info. on these.

I checked these out, Sick and I think I will order some of these and see how they work on my build.

Thanks again Sick for the info.

@Stone775

A few weeks ago, I bought a Buttkicker Wireless Kit for SimVibe, only to realize after further research it wouldn't work for me. I then bought four Buttkicker Mini LFE SEs and an Emotiva UPA-500.

In any case, I don't think I will isolate my R3volution as it's on a rubber mat. So if you find the Parts Express isolators unsuitable, you can have mine for the shipping. Although not 100%, I'm pretty sure they are the same as found on the Simulation Kit.

Gee Whiz Man, I appreciate that. Good golly, that's the best other I've heard in awhile. But, I think I already got it figured out and I've got some ordered well really they are already here and in my rig. I'm sorry :embarrassed: I have not been back on here for awhile and updated this thread, My Bad.👎 But, I thank you for your kind offer.:) I just don't see much of people giving something away anymore. You are very kind my friend. THANKS AGAIN.
