It seems to still drive on rails?

After watching a side by side comparison with ACC, It's quite obvious that the driver doesn't really need to work the corner or the steering wheel in GT7. It seems all you have to do is find the right angle on the steering wheel to drive through every corner with very little input.

That was the biggest issue with GT sport. The car is just seemed to float or glide through the corners. Why haven't they fixed this?

Difficult to say given we haven't seen any external footage in view of a wheel or gamepad to suggest any of that is accurate. We can make educated guesses but there's nothing obvious about it. Could even be AI controlled.

Because there is nothing to fix. GT appeals to a different audience than ACC does, so naturally they have different approaches to car physics.

I felt the opposite. In my time with ACC driving felt very easy compared to Sport. No oversteer, no understeer. Just brake aim for the corner and accelerate out "on rails" like the car was glued to the track.

Funnily enough, I do somewhat agree. Kerbs in sport I feel have the tendency to be far more lethal than they do in other games that are seen as more realistic - in Sport I find you look at one funny and it sucks you in and spits you out. It's the same with grass, which tries to hoover you in and stop you from going anywhere.

Your experience seems to be quite rare.

Are you sure everything is setup properly in each sim? Wheel, controller, etc.

I have the opposite view. I find the kerbs in GTS offer no threat and can be hammered quite a lot, however in ACC the kerbs can send you flying or spinning, especially if you dip a rear tyre on one on corner exits.
Have no idea which is the more accurate, but I'm sure it's somewhere in the middle.

Me too but that's because I know I'm not going as fast in ACC. It's a tad 'scarier' when I play that game so I don't really push it as much.

But I haven't put much time into it and eagerly await February 22 to give it another go.

Turn off assists and then take the Porsche 930 Turbo for a drive around the Nordschleife. You’ll need the steering wheel a lot.

Drive faster. Everything is easy to drive if you go slow enough.

It's not supposed to be like that.
