I've been thinking about trying to join a league but I'm not so great at tuning. I've been using Slumps guide off and on but I'm mediocre at best. So if anyone's willing to take me under their wing so to speak, my online id is the same as it is here. The only dlc I've bought is the racing car pack as well. Thanks

Be prepared to read a load, and I mean a LOAD of information.

Master_Shakes's new "1/4 Mile Transmission Tuning for Dummies(Fully Illustrated)" thread is also a must read to help understand proper transmission tuning. Good luck :)

I grasp the having the first 2-3 gears short to limit wheel spin and bogging down. I guess my issues are the suspension etc. Thanks for the replies. Should I even be looking to join a team, or give that up?

As far as I know teams usually hold tryouts for people who are already fast, its not necessary to be on a team to become fast and some teams don't share tunes even among themselves. People tend to keep their tunes to themselves as some have spent months of hard work fine tuning to shave of those last few thousandths of a second. Its a lot of trial and error...There are some base tunes here that can be very helpful to get you going in the right direction though.

Welcome to gtp and to drag racing. 👍 As mikey said theres a lot of trial and error involved. There are a few good guides and garages with base tunes for you to learn from. The rest is just practice. 👍 Feel free to ask any questions you have along the way and best of luck to you!
