I don't know why I didn't think about that earlier. PD's first true fans have always been Japanese. Us westerners have always been in he back f the bus when it came to GT. That all changed with GT5-P, but that was just it.
Look at PD track record and you'll see a trend.

If you,re still not follow me, here's a hint:" Where has PD always announced it's games ?

Still in the dark... ?

THE TOKYO GAME SHOW !!!

and guest when the next one is due?

Well... I hope...

Since PD has become a a big north american style marketing whore no one knows what to expect :indiff:

Yeah all we got is a good trailer on what to expect. Too bad no in game footage was shown with live game play on GT wheel.

But that does not mean we have to wait for TGShow for full unreveal. PD can always unreveal the game any time they want to. Just like any other game company always anounces themselves any time they feel like, big and small. But of course SONY, Microsoft, and Nintendo always take biggest titles and always unreveal them on big shows.

I would love to see some demo's on crash physics, as well new day and night cycles.

E3 IS NOT OVER..... Why do you people so easily forget that the LAST TWO DAYS is when all the awesome information from interviews and stuff like that comes out!

GT sells best in Europe. Therefore it is also possible that we will already see more at GamesCom in Cologne (the successor of Games Convention) which will be by the end of august.

here,s the problem, and the reason why allot of people got let down here. there is so much hype about E3 that you guys forgot about "the rest of the world".
GT is a Japanese franchise first, and a European and North American favorite "After"

it,s only fitting that it be presented in detail at the TGS this fall.... like it has been for the past 10 years or so

trust me. No one,s getting anything about GT5 at E3. They the PD teams is probably not even in the US...

You'll be bombarded by GT PSP tho. because they want you guys to swallow that pill.

I'm pretty sure that the idea to put GT on the psp is not a PD idea but a lobbied one by Sony North America.

If you look at all of kazunori-san,s interviews, his mind is set on creating a "Driving simulator".... not an arcade game on the psp.

I'm guessing that two things might happen this year. it,s presented at the TGS and they give us a date, say, beginning of 2010 (same as the GT4, if my memory is correct) and we get a spec IV to test out the damage system, that way they can tweak it and fix the necessary bugs.

OR...we get a presentation at the TGS and a holiday release date, and tons of hype and info from august to december.

I personally wouldn't mind a Spec IV update and a 2010 release date. 👍

TGS is getting quite close to a December release but would be good for a March release.

I still have my hopes up for this years E3. There is a presentation for an unannounced game this evening which could be GT. I thought it might be a new Kojima game but Konami has there own presentation today. I think the two most likely games are GT5 and Trico.

I'd say the West has slid into the front row since Gran Turismo 3. More precisely, the market has shifted towards Europe since Gran Turismo 4, a trend which has been confirmed with GT5:P's sales figures.

Source.

I don't expect much more information to come about GT5 at this E3. Maybe the Tokyo Game Show will offer more insight, though I wouldn't hold my breath, because TGS takes place right before GT for the PSP will be released. And Sony obviously wouldn't want the news of Gran Turismo 5 to overshadow the launch of their newest mobile racer.

I agree with what you said except this line... youre letting wishful thinking get the best of you there... I think we can all say by now that anymore updates for GT5:P are out of the question now with GT mobile and GT5 coming up... but you could definately be right that theyre waiting til TGS and then soon after it will come out... that would be a very acceptable scenario for me :)

I was all the time very confident about a TGS presentation.
I also said that earlier:
E³ teaser trailer (and now hyping GT PSP and the PSP GO), more in depth look at TGS or a PlayStation Premiere event which could also boost GT PSP sales, release in Japan Holiday '09 and US/Europe in Spring 2010.

Or maybe even start selling it with the PS3 slim like I read on another post in one of the other threads... That could make sense, also to boost unit sales...

And to completely throw a spanner in the works. Why is GT mobile coming out a week later in Japan than everywhere else?
