I was disappointed with the turn out, but the race was fun. Was nice to do a rolling start and caution laps behind a safety car. Great job Rich with the safety car:tup:

Congratulations to LVracer on the win. The first few laps were good with Lv and niop behind me, but then I hit the wall and had damage. After my first pit I came out and hit the wall again, so I was driving around with damage most of the time:)

I hope the next race will be better, because this series deserves a full dedcated field.

Good to hear Ronin, and yes I'm going to PM every single person on the roster before round 2 to make sure that people are aware of the race time.

Yea I was aware of the race but I had to go out and buy MW3 and give it a run last night, sorry. Lucky though that I'm not a hardcore COD fan, so I should be in the next few races if my schedule/timing all comply.

I also learned that at the end of the race if I'm down a lap or 2 to go right past the pace car and continue racing. Is this right?

If you are between the leader and the pace car once everyone has gathered behind the pace car, then you are given the wavearound and can drive around to the rear of the field to get a lap back.

Am I to wave people round as agreed or are they just to drive around me?
I dont mind either but would like it to be set in stone please.

As pace car I think you should be the only one who speaks during caution and thus, have control of things like this mate

Agree 👍

I think we're sticking with the original plan. Everybody bunches up behind you and then you wave them around as soon as you cross the line 👍

Expecting 7-8 drivers, hopefully.

Yeah, just do whichever is easier.

I suppose it'd be easier to wave them by as they get to you, just don't forget to remind them that the pits are still closed.

I agree that I should do the talking, simply because you guys are racing competitively and I am just watching for incidents. I can watch my corner just fine 👍 just want to be clear before we start.
Ill issue instructions not to overtake the safety car and then wave round individually, ill close the pits when I come out and re open them when the map tells me the right people have passed the entry.
As long as all can hear me it will be cool.

You'll be heard fine as long as others aren't talking at the same time. They'll either make it hard to hear what you're saying, or everyones mics will be cutting in and out (can happen when many people are talking at once) and some things will go unheard.

With the "dirty air" introduced/increased with 2.0, I'm expecting incidents at the flat out chicane in the middle of the lap at Tokyo. If someone has had an incident there and is on the racing line, there will be no way to avoid them without slowly down massively (and possibly causing further incidents anyway).

So the main spots to watch out for today will probably be: the first corner at the start/restarts, the narrow section after the first corner (track will be blocked if someone has spun there), and the flat out chicane (same reason as the narrow section).

Just switched from wireless to wired PS3 connection literally ten minutes ago. Jumped from 1.6mbps to 9mbps at NAT2, this should be good for racing 👍

EDIT: I'll be on in half an hour Knelly.

The others chatting was the problem at the first pre season race, I was trying to close the pits but couldnt get a word in edgeways so some guy pitted :(

Thanks for the heads up, I can see the entire track anyway so ill be out like a trout as soon as I spot a 2 car (or more) crash.

Sorry I haven't replied yet. I was exhausted last night after the race and went to bed. I did save the replay.

Even though it was a low turnout it was still fun. I didn't pm anyone because the race was in knellys lounge So I thought everything was good. That's my fault.

Couple things from last night. First off great clean racing for the most part. Starts were good and restart went smooth.

Race finish, the room was set to allow for a couple mins after the race is won for any battles that may still be taking place. The computer will take over anyone who has crossed the finish line. This will NOT be a caution period/pace lap. Keep racing until the time expires or you cross the line and the computer takes over. The pace car should stay where he is or exit the track to avoid
confusion.

Next thing I want to talk about is blocking. There was a lapped car last night who will not be named that was pretty aggressive. You are allowed 1 move to defend your position IF you are on the lead lap and are racing for position. If you are a lap down, you may keep your pace and the leaders will have to pick their place to overtake but blocking the leaders will be strictly prohibited. The driver that was displaying the aggressive maneuvers last night will be given a warning and placed on a 2 race probation. The penalty for blocking will be a 20 second time penalty. Two separate blocking infractions in the same race will be 40 seconds, etc.

We'll let you know if there's a car blocking the track too berty, since that'd appear as a single car incident on your map.

Good rules there LV, I agree. And as for PM's, that explains the low turnout I think. Don't worry about it in the future as I'll send all of them out. You could have easily got 10 drivers if not more had I/you done this yesterday 👍

Unrelated question..... I went from NAT 2 (which I have had for 2 years) to all of a sudden, out of nowhere....NAT OPEN. What does this mean?

I've not seen "NAT open" before, so that's new to me. I've seen NAT 1, NAT 2, NAT 3, and NAT Failed, but not that. It should return to normal if you restart your PS3 though.

If you are between the leader and the pace car once everyone has gathered behind the pace car, then you are given the wavearound and can drive around to the rear of the field to get a lap back.

It was actually after the checkered flag and when I caught the leaders who were behind the pace car, I waited behind this group. So even though I was 2 laps down I still had the pace car and places 1,2 & 3 ahead of me.

I followed this group for the better part of a lap and just before the finish I think it was lesoldham passed everyone to move up a place. I don't care about the points but just want to be clear for future races.

Do we have a backup room plan? Because for the second week in a row I can't join Knelly's room due to incompatibility. Which doesn't make sense as i've been in there since.

EDIT: i'm in so you guys can rejoin, hope this works.

File in boys, go to Knelly's profile and join the room he is in as we're now in a public lobby!

Also a note to LV, along with the results i'll need who got pole position and who led the most laps for the points standings 👍

10 minutes to green flag!

Got pole, led all laps but one (which comes to 12/13 laps), and then got disconnected from what was a very laggy race for me.
