jag and toyota release their mid-field challenging cars

its january, time for those launches.

jaguar and Toyota have been the 2 most recent teams to launch their cars. different looking from their previous car, but no radical changes (unlike the "walrus" williams released)

how do you think these cars will perform in this years mid-field battle. will either challenge the top four. i sure as all hell hope the jag does

I'm just wandering if Toyota are going to take the same approach as they did last year. I wander how similar this years Toyota will look to the new Ferrari :odd: .

Anywayz apparantly the Ferrari (like the 'Walrus') is going to have a radical new and unique nose cone. It's going to be unveiled next week apprantly.

Well the first day of testing for Jaguar and Toyota has commenced. Both Jaguar and Toyota were taking it very easy today with their new cars (which is the trend - McLaren certainly did it with their new car). But only by the end of this week are we going to have a tiny incling.

Personally like you Millen, I'd love to see Webber (and Klien - though it's unlikely) convert the Jags qualifying performances of last year into race results this year. 👍
Though I have a feeling that Toyota might be the surprise of this year :( .

toyota has to get it right sooner or later.
People relate toyota to BAR as both teams enter f1 and start spending a lot of money and expect sudden results. So people think that toyota will just be a midfield runner all the time, difference is that toyota is a CAR manufacturer. so they will get it right.

What bout the new sauber, nothing special with that

it seems that all the big teams are doin something different with the nose. there is williams 'walrus', mclarens oddly thin champcar like nose.....what will ferrari do. i hope it aint ugly

I so wish F1 was bigger in the US. There's so little coverage. And, this is silly of me, but the Lego William's F1 set isn't even available here anymore because there's no demand for F1 goodies. CRAP!

It used to be $130 USD ($20 less than the "Silver Champion" set) and had about 200 more pieces. It's a very cool set. Unfortunately it's no longer available in the US and the few I've spotted on ebay have gotten wild on their prices. I've thought about ordering one from the UK Amazon store.

Getting back to the original topic......;)

I read a report today of Panis on the new Toyota.
He was saying how he's already not happy with the handling. And saying how it needs more downforce and actual grip. Not such a good start. An I don't know what the hell Jaguar are up to in testing. I just hope they're being really conservative for the time being.

I would almost go so far as to say Formula 1 is worth moving out of the United States for. No, wait, I take that back. It's worth moving over seas just to get away from NASCar!

It's good, but waaayyyy to overated. Anyway, I actually quite like NASCAR. Seems pretty close whenever I see it on TV. IRL and CART is what I disagree with. I just don't like it. If you struggle that much to see F1, on the official website, there's live timing of the race, qual and practice. It has comentary, it's kinda like listening to it over the raido, if you ever get that desperate for it anyway.

BTW anyone notice those little logos on the Jaguar, which funnily enough look like the Red Bull logos. Of course if they are they're nothing to do with Christiene Klien. I mean they said Red Bull were only sponsoring Klien.:odd:
